Re: Anyone having issues buying from Japan Angler?
Hhmm... @jpmoney - so have you ordered and paid something not yet delivered or is inquiries and reminders without response? I haven’t paid for anything yet but he was supposed to order a couple rods for me and I have been trying emails several times for weeks with no response. He must be busy...I w...

Re: Anyone having issues buying from Japan Angler?
I’m having the same issues with JPangler (Kazu). I have been trying to get a couple rods and have emailed 4 or 5 times in the past couple months with zero response. I have bought lots from him in the past with nothing but great experiences. Don’t know what’s going on??

Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
Wow that’s a large price increase over the outgoing model. I wonder if this will obsolete the Steez A?

Re: Extra Long Dropshot Rod
Am I missing any other options? If you don’t mind EVA grips the Daiwa Steez AGS 761MML spinning rod is an incredible alternative to the above mentioned rods and would excel for deep/long range DS applications. This particular rod is a stand out among the AGS spinning lineup and among the best of th...

Re: Punching Rods....Help me find the one.
Take a look at the shimano expride 1711XH. It's a beast of a rod and a great for punching. It's also very durable, no issues in my mind to make some huge hooksets with this rod. On the other hand, if you enjoy snapping rods on the hookset, the warhammer or other MB offerings might be a good choice....

Re: Need a rod for a new-2-me reel.
I’d suggest the 6’11M poison Adrena on sale & that would put it right around your $300 budget. It’ll be a great match with the steez, they also have a 7’2M. I’d skip the Expride with it being so close to the Adrena in price, I like the Adrena lineup about as much as my nrx rods ^ This. The adrena i...

Re: Frog Rod
I would pass on the dobyns. For 1/2oz frogs in sparse cover I would look at the 72H Expride. The 73XH is also good and is a meat stick if you get into the thicker stuff. Balance is great on the 72H as well. Also something to consider a your budget. If money is no object the Daiwa Steez AGS 74XH is a...

Re: POISON ULTIMA 170MH v. KISTLER Z-BONE ZB704MH v. OLYMPIC GVGC-611MH
I also have the 70MH Ultima and I love that rod. It is a classic fast action much like the 843 MBR series of rods from loomis/Shimano. It does however bend progressively deep into the blank when you hook a hawg but maintains lots of power. As jmb27 stated it is a very sensitive rod, right up there w...

Re: Conquest 905C balance
I don't think you are going to find a reel that will balance that rod out nicely. The main reason is that the reel sits more than 12" up from the butt end of the rod and creates a fulcrum point in the balance. Adding more weight at that fulcrum point will slightly improve balance but with diminishin...
