I’m having the same issues with JPangler (Kazu). I have been trying to get a couple rods and have emailed 4 or 5 times in the past couple months with zero response. I have bought lots from him in the past with nothing but great experiences. Don’t know what’s going on??

Take a look at the shimano expride 1711XH. It's a beast of a rod and a great for punching. It's also very durable, no issues in my mind to make some huge hooksets with this rod. On the other hand, if you enjoy snapping rods on the hookset, the warhammer or other MB offerings might be a good choice....

I’d suggest the 6’11M poison Adrena on sale & that would put it right around your $300 budget. It’ll be a great match with the steez, they also have a 7’2M.
