Re: Five Footers

So how short is too short? I've got a 3'9" Tenryu Rayz LL rod coming. I've got some small brookie streams in mind for it but I have never used a rod anywhere close to that length before. A tiny parabolic BFS rod would he a blast. I'm not sure how how the guide train would be for a spinning rod that...

May I suggest you guys take the conversation to PM, phone call or text messaging (carrier rates may apply)? I and others on here do not want to see this tread closed.

Thanks

Re: Aldebaran bfs XG 2016 & Braid

Couldn't really cast well with braid. Picked up some gloss and see how it goes. Maybe I'm impatient and not the best bait caster, but any tips that are specific to thin line and small reels? If not there may be a deal on a bfs setup. Gentle casting strokes. Start with the brakes high and lower the ...

I know it is not a Morrum but, Shimano has a new Conquest coming out in Japan specifically for BFS. Just search on this forum for 2017 Shimano Conquest BFS.

I love it. Pitching is very nice with the T Wing. I do enjoy the T Wing for skipping with stiff FC as well. The wider line guide allows the line to "shoot" off the spool.

Re: TW clearance sale of Daiwa sv105 and sv103 ... ???

sorry, you are right, it's not jdm sv103(thank you Daiwa, your naming convention is so confusing), but Daiwa JDM SS SV 103 JDM Casting Reel $299.97 msrp: $381.37 | Save: $81.40 | 21% http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Daiwa_SS_SV_103_JDM_Casting_Reel/descpage-DSSV.html So the question is - how is this ...

Re: TW clearance sale of Daiwa sv105 and sv103 ... ???

I along with most Daiwa enthusiast love both platforms. But the normal fisherman, ie non-tackletour member, is all about new or different reels. My guess is the Zillion SV TW outsells the SV 103 10 to 1. I mean have you fished with anyone no TT crowd who buys tuning spools  I believe the SV105...

Re: Daiwa on TT

I have always had good interactions with Daiwa. Everyone on their team has been helpful and quick to respond. I know there are a lot of questions that pop up that can be answered by many of the mechanically inclined reel gurus that are members on here i.e will X gears fit in Y reel. We get a lot of ...

Re: New Steez TW ALUMINUM for 2017 !

One thing I do not get is that Daiwa claims they could have made the Steez SV TW (MG version) to break the 130gr limit but they wanted to make it more durable. If they were actually able to do that and with them making a Steez TW Aluminum for the "rough and rugged" fishing, why wouldn't they have ma...

Re: TW clearance sale of Daiwa sv105 and sv103 ... ???

My understanding is that the reels were a limited offering from daiwa. Two blasts from the past with sv spools in them. I bet the Alphas SV hangs around in the JDM market. They both seemed to be pretty popular. The SV103 was a little slow to catch on but then it seemed to be a popular reel. Granted...

Or just have hybrid aluminum/brass gears like the T3 Air

You get the best of both worlds. The smoothness and durability of brass with the weight of aluminum

Re: Reel Suggestions for NRX 893c

Well as tempting as the Mets are........I'm a Daiwa junkie at heart. Bronzefly, Any chance you'll be stocking the Steez SV TW1012SV-XH 8.1:1 RH anytime soon? Pre-order perhaps? I asked Daiwa if they were going to have the 8.1 in the US. They said they do not know at the moment. I'm hoping for a Cla...

Re: Steez Ltd

looks nice.........But how well does it perform? What techniques do you use to catch bass? Performs amazing! Ian made the already impressive spool even better with his modifications. Reel is buttery smooth, even smoother than stock. Has a lot of power with the 4.9 gears. I know it's too slow for ma...
