Re: The search for one (Lipless) Megabass Orochi xx EMTF vs Destroyer Javelin
Is there one perfect lipless rod? Asking because I feel that the ways to fish a lipless effectively are so different (burning vs yo-yo'ing), and to me, neither of the rods you're looking at are perfect if you expect to bottom-hop the lipless and not just burn it back (I feel they're too slow ...

The search for one (Lipless) Megabass Orochi xx EMTF vs Destroyer Javelin
Good Day I continue my search for a perfect Lipless crankbait rod. Reading through TT reviews there are potentially two rods that s interest me from Megabass the gen II Orochi xx EMTF and the Destroyer Javelin would be used for Lipless 3/8 to 3/4 primarily 1/2oz size line braid Reel used Daiwa J dre...

Re: Looking for a quality snap.
These are the best snaps I have found. Their duel locking ability prevents the oops moments when you forget to lock it completly or it breaks open In Canada they are Stringease Stay Loc Snaps... Mustad sells them under the same name as well. size 1 for jerkbaits replaces the split ring size 2 for sq...

This is a very tempting reel.
I know it’s early but does anyone think that the zillion brass gears will fit in there morethan PE 2019.
Thanks Trevor

Cheers thanks for the review I like this braid for certain applications. Jerkbait fishing. I use the 4 strand 20lb blue. the wirery feeling of the thinner dia works together. There is less fluffing in the reel on casts; Doesn't separate as easy; The thinner dia changes the depth of the jerkbait a pl...

Re: Nice BC reel for Casting 1/4-1/2oz baits LONG DISTANCE
Any thoughts on the Conquest 101? Or the new Daiwa Elite? The OG Zillion route or Bantam MGL seem to be feasible within price range. I will be putting it on a Dobyns Xtasy 753C. The board has been good to me in their recommendations about the J dream. I was able to hunt down a 6.4 and 7.9 from ebay...

Re: Making Conquests Lighter
i have been looking to re-purpose a factory rod and found this guide train discussion to be useful. the one notable exception is the first guide KW10 is much larger the normal. Norm is a respected rod builder on the rodbulding forum. For a 7’ casting rod I use KW10 (or RV6) followed by a KW5.5 (or K...

Bucktail / Hair Jigs Heavies (1oz)
Evening been watching too many videos during covid. Recently watch Jordan Lee throwing 1oz white hair jig to win tourney; another PRO angler cashed a check throwing same weight and color. It seems to be a big fish low numbers type of bait I bought some SPRO 1oz white to get me started Do we have boa...

Re: Line recommendation for topwater/jerkbait combo
I use 30lb braid to a fluoro or mono leader. Usually 14-18lb Shooter or 18-22lb Defier Armillo. Getting good action out of a rip bait is easy with no stretch braid. This is the ticket. ;) I will only add check the dia of the braid. I look for 10lb mono equivalent so the lure runs near max listed de...

Re: New Poison Adrena
Good Evening The 6'11" can anyone comment on it as a jerkbait rod. I use a Rapala concept ti 6'11" which is a med / fast 1/4 - 1/2oz it is a soft med rod, and is my go jerkbait rod for visions 110 slender pointer 112 and any sub 100 size baits. I have handled the first gen Adrena and really like th...

Re: Is there a better deep jerkbait than the staysee 90
Good Evening I am late to this party; but needed to confirm my results fishing this bait from last year. This bait preformed better then expected. Duel Hardcore longbill jerkbait 90. It is the same wait as the stayee at 7/16 depth 10 - 12 feet compared to 8 - 10 of the stayee. Price is cheaper (comp...

Re: Your favorite rod taper for Jerkbaits
Good Evening taper and power together determine my application I voted fast, i am using a Med / fast 1/4 - 1/2oz rated rod and the fast tip gives me the desired lure action and the med power has enough flex to handle fish on treble hooks. If I were fishing Med - MH rod 1/ 4 - 1oz I would search for ...

Re: Daiwa SV103 or 50th Anniversary opinions
I fish traps pretty often and my goto is a Fuego with a zillion PE special spool and floro. IMHO you should get a different spool for the sv103. I have two of those reels and I would even be willing to mail you a Steez long cast spool to use in that reel. It’s astronomical how well it cast and the ...
