Re: Daiwa J-Braid???
I'm curious- do braid manufacturers measure braid thickness before putting the coating on or after?

Re: Do you still fish a med 6'6 fast rod?
a 2 piece 6-6 rod is in the trunk of my car at all times. It's my "see new pond fish new pond" rod. Nice 2500 sized daiwa reel on it with 8 pound test and I can fish a variety of plastics and lures.

Re: Daiwa J-Braid???
Just fished J-Braid 30 lb on spinning reel in Costa Rica for 7 days. Fishing off the rocks for jacks, macks and whatever else was biting. First few days, had some major wind knots. After that, no problems at all. No mysterious line breaks, flows through guides nicely and fought some decent size fish...

Re: Would you ever buy a Quantum over Shim/Daiwa/Abu
I just asked a similar question in another posting- was debating between a daiwa, shimano or Quantum Team KVD spinning reel for DS/light baits. The few responses were NO!. I ended up buying a Shimano and a Daiwa.

Re: Reel Recommendation
Alright- ordered a fuego 2500 and a saros 2500. I'll compare the two for size, balance and feel on the Powell and go with one of them. I'll keep the other one for my wife- at least that's what I'll tell her.

Re: Reel Recommendation
Curious- why the fuego second to the Sedona? I tend to like Daiwa's but I don't have anything under 3000 size.

Reel Recommendation
Picked up a new Powell Inferno 7' ML rod primarily to use for dropshotting and slinging light baits for trout/smallies. Looking at a 2000/25 series reel- primarily Shimano Sedona, Daiwa Fuego or the new Quantum Team KVD spinning reel. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Re: A good day of bass fishing, what does it take?
One of two scenarios- First scenario- Taking my 7 year old with me on a warm cloudy afternoon and watching him catch some fish. Second scenario- going out by myself on a warm cloudy afternoon after my 7 year old and 4 year old have worn me down and I need some alone time. :D Having my spinning setup...
