Megabass ITO Monoblock ticking noise
Got a question to all you Monoblock owners out there: I just picked up my first original Silver Monoblock. I hear a couple of slight ticks when the spool is near the very end of spinning. Is that normal for this platform of reels? I took the spool off and checked if the ticks were coming from the ge...

Re: Shimano Exsence DC spool/cast control bearings
After fooling around with the reel, I do not think the smaller secondary bearing beneath the 3x10x4 bearing in the cast control cap needs to be upgraded. When casting clutch is disengaged (ready for casting), the spool shaft never actually touches the smaller bottom bearing. I think only the two 3x1...

Re: Exsence DC Its here :)
My Exsence was just delivered to my office, was wondering if any of you that have one had a cover provided for it in the box? I would think as a DC, it would come with a cover. :?: Just ordered the rod for it today so I won't have any feedback until later this month. Feels pretty nice in hand thoug...

Re: WOW!!!! TackleTrap....Megabass....drool
Anyone know if the new Megabass USA will also bring over all the rare Megabass reels including limited models that we see for the JDM market only?

Shimano Exsence DC spool/cast control bearings
There are 2 bearings in the cast control from factory separated by a plastic bushing in the Exsence DC.
Has anyone done the upgrade to Boca OS bearings and if so, what are the bearing sizes needed? Thanks!

Re: Daiwa Certate High Gear Custom
Does anyone here in the states offer servicing on the mag-seal? Would love a new 2013 Certate 2506, but don't want to mess around with having to send it back to Japan for regular maintenance. Daiwa USA services all MagSeal reels now since they have to support the new Saltigas and Certates with MagS...

I contacted Plat Japan and they think it's made in Thailand due to lower price of the reel.

Re: DC System enthusiasts!
Not to derail, but the scorpion dc has no dc whine if that is important to you.
Check out the Exsence DC, saltwater capable and overall a better reel than the scorpion dc IMO.

Re: Antares 2012
I was under the impression the new Antares 2012 HG is a freshwater only reel.. Read description from Japan Tackle: http://www.japantackle.com/Shimano/Shimano_12Antares.htm Here's link to Shimano Japan's web page and it does not have an icon indicating SW safe usage: http://fishing.shimano.co.jp/prod...

VS definitely better for surf fishing apps.. Stella SW is king of spinning reels on a boat though.. long proven track record for big pelagic fish.

Re: Jerry Brown Braid
JB hollow is good line, but not as smooth as Japanese braids. I us JB hollow for tuna fishing and it's been ok, broke it a couple of times fishing 30lbs over drag on 60lb JB hollow, after 40min battle. I guess the line just gave up due to excessive stress. I've been using Power Pro Hollow Ace, very ...
