Re: New Shimano Rods (Poison Ultima & Glorious)
I'm liking the new design on the glorious as the older models were pretty heavy. But, now that they look more like the Ultima and share a pretty close price, it almost seems a bit unnecessary. Either way, I'm way more excited for 2016 shimano/jackall rods then mb... Agreed on the price and look. I'...

New Shimano Rods (Poison Ultima & Glorious)
Shimano just updated their Japanese websites, the new rods seem to be listed: http://fishing.shimano.co.jp/product/rod/3533 Ultima, we're getting a 610M and a 264/66SUL-S. http://fishing.shimano.co.jp/product/rod/4381 Glorious, they redid the look, and it looks like we lost a few rods like the wolfd...

Re: Best Frog rod
My FAVORITE Frog rod is my Poison Glorious Rushburn. Honestly, so crisp, and has the power to haul em out of the slop here.

Re: Reel Rescue: IS Edition
Nice Find Max, don't have to worry about it, just fish it!! I picked up Galaxy Red IS71HL that was kinda beat up, sent it off to Ian, gave it the full tune, an IS71 that I can actually take out and fish and not worry about it. NICE. Exactly. This one is for the boat, not the shelf. At 1/50 it's a s...

Reel Rescue: IS Edition
In my endless tackle search, I stumbled across a well used and marked IS79UC 25th. It had clearly seen better days....Still, it was a rare find, and I know I will have no problem fishing this one. No worries about making it less than mint.... http://s15.postimg.org/kwhyy8ux7/IMG_20160120_WA0017.jpg ...

Re: The Carrot Combo: Orange Rod and Green Spinning Reel?
The TD-Ito 2506 is green. You could always do a custom rod on an orange blank too. This is what I did. TD Ito 2506 + Custom Rod.... Thanks all, great suggestions. Not sure I'm willing to go with a combo rod for this purpose but definitely good to know the options. Will probably do 2 combos - one wi...

It's worth what someone will pay. These days the AOI is worth a pretty penny
mint ones are going well over 600 easily....

Re: This IS Megabass
Since everyone in here knows their MB, how's the Viola/Rosso paint holding? Does it chip easily? The IS Galaxy Red chips easily, the Zonda Rosso holds it fine, and I find the FX series chips easily no mater what. My 0.02 depends on how u use your gear...the few rosso we got are all pretty bad. Daiw...

Re: Monoblock spool weights
Haha even though this is TT, I will arrange an intervention for anyone with 7 XRs. Part of that intervention will involve selling one of them to me. 5 will work, but the fewer samples we have, the less accurate the calculation becomes. 7 is generally accepted as the min required for any real confid...

Re: JDM 2 piece rods
A bit of cold also will also sometimes help a stuck rod pop apart. I rarely take my 2 piece rods apart once they're together, I just treat them like any one piece rod.... works well Thanks Max!!! The cold did the trick. I laid the handle/blank on a bath towel in between two frozen ziplock bags and ...
