Re: Megabass Levante Stinger Shot or Loomis EX6 DS
Go check out the Tackle Trap, they just got some of the original Orochi XX rods back in stock including the Dropshot Rod and Stinger Shot for 189.

Re: Spining Rod Opinions
I hope I can help a bit. I have a St Croix Legend Xtreme 6’8” M/XF as well as a St Croix Avid 6’6” M/F, and I have the MB Destroyer Addermine. I totally understand why Gary is recommending it so highly, it’s just a bada$$ spinning rod performance wise and handles really nicely. I’d say it’s a bit le...

Re: First look at new Megabass Orochi XX rods
One of the reasons the rods now have the Spiral Architect Reel Seat instead of the previous seat is that in many cases when you are palming a reel like so many do you actually have less contact with the rod itself and you are actually feeling "reel sensitivity" and not maintaining as much contact w...

Re: First look at new Megabass Orochi XX rods
Definitely looks like a step up in the design/aesthetics department, and like the upgraded guides for sure. I am ok with the reel seat but do prefer the Fuji ECS. I was hoping for a bit more powerful all graphite cranking stick in the 7’3” range, like a big brother to the Flatside Special for mid to...

Re: $300 spinning rod for bottom contact techniques
I love my Addermine, it’s a sweet stick, but I think based on my time with it that it’s got more power then a traditional Dropshot rod. So far it’s great for heavier drop shots using senkos, shakeyheads, and weightless senkos. But I think my St Croix M/F sticks still have more backbone. I also have ...

Should be interesting to see the finished product. Increasing sensitivity and balance of these already awesome sticks at that price point would quite the feat.

Re: Steez SV (non TW)
Wow, good to know didn’t realize it was that small. Must be a lot smaller then a Zillion SV TW then. Thanks!Kurt L wrote:Side by side Met MGL/13 Vs Steez SV (Non TW) the Steez is smaller in just about all respects. I can get my hand much further around it than with my Mets.

Re: Steez SV (non TW)
Interesting comments. The Steez SV103 is the same form factor as the previous Steez. Out of the reels mentioned in this thread, I would place the Steez SV103 at number 2 on my palmability list. 1) Steez SV TW, complete cradle like comfort 2) Steez, perhaps a bit wider than the SV103 (Zillion OG), b...

Re: Steez SV (non TW)
Thanks again to everyone for taking the time to read and respond, and patience with this Daiwa newbie. I think I’m going to skip the Steez sV for now based on what I’ve heard so far about the ergonomics, and images I’ve been able to find and compare of it mounted on rods compared to reels I know. Wi...

Re: Steel SV TW vs Aldebaran 50 HG for a MBR783c?
The Steez SV TW is leaps and bounds a better reel than the Aldebaran in my opinion. It's easily $200 better, and the Aldebaran is a very nice reel overall, but the palming, performance, rigidity in hand, smoothness, really everything is noticeably more refined and precise with the Steez SV TW in my...

Re: Megabass Orochi XX... What’s next for the USDM??
Agree with most that the Fuji ECS seat is just simpl, tried and true, ergonomic and gets the job done. I always know if it’s got an ECS it’s good to go. Based on experience with my FMJ I could see how the trigger on that seat could cause some discomfort. I don’t have a problem with it, but the lengt...

Re: Steez SV (non TW)
In terms of comfort and handling can anyone who has time with them provide some feedback comparing how low in the reel seat the Steez SV103 sits compared to the Zillion SV or Tatula Sv or even a Chronarch MGL? From what I can tell in photos the Steez appears to sit up just a bit higher and has a mo...

Re: Steez SV (non TW)
I think the smart move for you, if you can do it, is to find a local tackle store that has the reels in stock, and then make a trip there to handle them yourself, so you'll really know what fits you best. I would prefer to do that if I could for sure, but I don't think any brick and mortar retailer...
