Re: Steez SV (non TW)

Thanks guys all the feedback and input. Definitely learning more then I have searching. Seems like I’ve got some tough choices to make, but that maybe there’s also not a bad choice among them.

Re: Steez SV (non TW)

You can get a Steez SV TW A BNIB on the bay for same price TW is selling the steez SV. I sold a steez SV to fund another Steez SV TW A. I just flat out love those reels. You can also get a Steez SV103 on ebay for much cheaper than listed retail prices. But yeah, I'd much rather have the SV TW. Best...

Re: Steez SV (non TW)

Thanks, appreciate the additional feedback and info on the reel. Sounds like it I may need to give it a bit more thought. It looks like a comfortable reel.

Any worries about it as a jig and trig reel in cover? I assume it’s not just for light finesse.

Thanks

Re: Steez SV (non TW)

I have used both, own 2 Zillion SV TW's and one Chronarch MGL. A good friend that tournament fishes a ton has both a 6.3 and 8.1 Steez SV. For me they just feel like supped up SS/SV's (which I also own and like, now that it has a Zillion SV TW spool). But yeah, for the price I would just get anothe...

Steez SV (non TW)

I’m about to get a couple Zillion SV TW to add to my lineup since I’ve liked my Tatula SV so well. I still love my 13 Metanium, and my Chronarch MGL is great as well. But the control and ease of casting of the Tatula SV convinced me to give Daiwa some more love. I just got some unexpected mad money ...

Re: Megabass Orochi XX... What’s next for the USDM??

We got updated on the new XX rods today in detail. Each change was listed and the reasoning behind it for each model as well as new models. VERY detailed information as to the thought process of the designers etc as well as staff and customer feedback. Its really got me stoked to get mine and get t...

Re: Shimano Bantam MGL???

I’m hoping this frame design and philosophy makes it way into a magnesium reel sometime in the future.

Re: St Croix Avid X

I have been looking into getting a new jerkbait/topwater rod. The Avid X is what I am thinking right now but I'm up for suggestions as well. Is the 6'8 MHF going to have too much backbone? Would I be better off with the 6'8 MXF? The MH/F will be too stout for treble hook lures for sure. I’d stick t...

Re: First look at Megabass Destroyer USA rods

Based on very limited time off the water with the Dropshot rod my experience is the Addermine is more powerful and faster than the XX Dropshot. But it’s a sweet rod and there’s really no reason not to own both :) ! With the most recent 2500CI4+ mounted that measurement on the Addermine is 10 5/8”. ...

Re: First look at Megabass Destroyer USA rods

Thanks! I will give you a call tomorrow. The reel I am using is a 2500 Ci4+. On a XX Drop shot, it is 11.25" from the front of the stem to the butt. My idea is around 9", which I have a pair of customs built to. I suspect that most factory rods will be longer, but I feel like the XX DS is unusually...

The Addermine is one bada$$ stick and for that reason alone you need one.

Re: What is the Tatula SV of rods?

Great info eveyone. The Light and Tough looks really interesting. I really like the OG Tatula rods but I have to get a Tat CT CS or Morethan PE to match. Don't know why Daiwa does not match their reels to their rods. I've always been curious about the current gen Mojo rods but know know anything ab...

Re: Rod decisions....the struggle is real!

There’s a pretty large spread of price ranges among the rods you’re looking at. In that range I’d recommend you hang on and see what the new Megabass Orochi XX series will offer, the originals are fantastic rods with several being very versatile and multipurpose. If you could still find an original ...

There’s only one M casting option in the HE3, and that’s a 7’0”.

Re: MegabassOrochi Diablo Uses

Will the dsr work for squarebills around cover or is it too stiff? I think as long as you’re using a little bigger squarebill (over 3/8 oz)then it should work just fine, just use the right line and adjust your drag. I have used mine ripping lipless and boated several fish with no trouble. And I use...
