Re: Megabass Rod Options?

The Tour Versatile is a good choice for those large spinnerbaits.

Re: Megabass Orochi micro guides and knots

I've been using the FG knot and it casts through the guides fine. I'm sure it slows the cast down just a bit but it's not noticeable. I do this on my Diablo Spec R with 40lb Samurai and a 12 or 14 lb fluoro leader.

Re: Orochi XX Casting Rod 7'2" Diablo Spec R

As others have said it's one awesome rod, but not the right rod for your use case. You would want to be looking at the Tour Versatile or the Perfect Pitch in that line up. But the DSR is one my absolute favorite rods.

Re: First look at Megabass Destroyer USA rods

Got the Addermine today, I love everythinng about it, the build is simply amazing. I do with megabass used better cork with less filler but its all good, the filler shows up with U-40 cork seal :big grin: With that said I will be buying more megabass in the future... Glad to hear you got and love i...

Re: What do i "need"

What you're going to need is a high credit limit. Megabass rods are adicting especially the new Destroyers. Check out the Daemos too, I hear it's an extremely versatile medium heavy powerish stick.

Re: First look at Megabass Destroyer USA rods

Doing some floor bend tests, the addermine seems slightly less powerful and has a little slower taper. They are fairly close in power/taper but from what I can see the addermine is slightly less powerful. Hello, would you say the Addermine has a true extra-fast action, despite being a little slower...

Re: First look at Megabass Destroyer USA rods

I have both the NRX 852s and the MB Addy. The NRX has a slight edge in sensitivity. I would rate the Addy in between an ML and an M. Make sense? I second this ^ I am currently using braid on the addermine setup so to me the sensitivity difference in my hands is unnoticeable. One thing that th...

Re: Megabass Addermine

Excellent, thanks papabassin. My biggest concern is sensitivity, most my rods are NRX so if the rod is close that would work for me. I've just not had enough time on the water with it to make a really clear objective assessment of sensitivity. Also I've never fished an NRX. In my time with it my in...

Re: First look at Megabass Destroyer USA rods

It hasn't gotten much attention here yet, but the Addermine is one sweet little finesse rod. Just got it this week courtesy of my wife and the fine crew at The Tackle Trap. I'm down right amazed at the rod, light as a feather and just perfectly balanced, ergonomics of the reel seat and handle are gr...

Re: First look at Megabass Destroyer USA rods

Gary that's something I was really curious about and am happy to hear. I'd think that would make the Daemos even more suitable for jigs/trigs under 1/2 oz. Knowing the FMJ is certainly very powerful can you compare the Daemos's taper to the FMJ? Hey Kevin - absolutely. I've fished 3/8 oz skirted ji...

Re: First look at Megabass Destroyer USA rods

The XX rods are very nice, no doubt. I agree with Chris, the Daemos is faster tapered, more crisp, and it's noticeably more sensitive in my hands than the XX Diablo Spec R. I have a full set of US Destroyer models now and am fishing them as much as I can and loving every minute of it :D Gary that's...

Re: First look at Megabass Destroyer USA rods

After seeing all these pics, these rods look too pretty NOT to have one. Maybe the 7'2 or 7'5 model would be good for spinnerbaits, chatterbaits and swim jigs. Should be a few reviews out before TW next 15% & 20% off sales and that price wouldn't be so bad for a moving bait rod. The new steez looks...

Re: First look at Megabass Destroyer USA rods

Literally just pulled my FMJ out of the rod tube 3 minutes ago!!! Very first immediate impression, this one sexy gorgeous stick, and incredibly light weight for its rated power! =D> Haven't tested the taper or mounted a reel yet so can't comment beyond that first impression. But I think this could ...
