Re: Stella Spool Weights

No one answering you Marek ! I'm not into spinning reels, but would say get both :D If it's OK with the wife  At the price they go for (you can get a decent spinning reel for less  ) she would probably end up spooling me. I went through this same dilemma with my 1000FE. Paid the $14...

Re: Megabass Hyuga

There was a Hyuga 64L on Japanlureshop last thursday for $156. Being the impatient self-indulgent that I am I saw it and bought it about 15 minutes after I posted above. JLS charged me $9 shipping for a 1 pc rod overnighted via UPS LOL! So the total was $167. I must say the rod build quality and fe...

Re: Travel/pack rod options?

See this thread, member dorset darren is an expert on travel rods: http://forums.tackletour.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=66338 Lol, I have had the loomis escape ul rod, it was a nice rod but the cork on mine was not the best quality, but the main issue I had was the fact it was 3 sections, so if you wa...

Re: Why no anti reverse "off" switch? Stradi FK

Like MTBF says, waterproofing is the reason Shimano gave. I am sure cost of production was another reason, less parts means the reels are cheaper to build. It kind of feels like your getting less reel for your money but It does makes sense, i'll bet over 90% of anglers never back reel. I would go e...

Re: Set ups and fish captured thread

I would love that shore luck rod , I almost bought one a while back .....if only it was 4 pieces ! Same with the tsr rod, I had the Cardiff reel in 2000 size on a smith trout 4 section 5ft 6 rod,but sold it as it never got used. The weight of the rod is flat ridiculous and the torzite micro guides ...

Re: Set ups and fish captured thread

Some rainbows and brookies from my favorite lake. Most were caught on TSR rods running a Stella 1000FE or Caridiff CI-4+ C2000. Also included is my new favorite ultralight rod a Shoreluck SLL-68ULS. Catching a 7lb rainbow on a TSR is damn fun. http://i.imgur.com/RDOWLwN.jpg?2 http://i.imgur.com/R741...

I saw that this morning but was in a hurry to get to work so I didn't have time to translate the page. Are those reels using SV spools? I'm assuming so and they look like they're SV.

Re: Megabass Hyuga

I've been looking at a new UL/L cranking rod this fall and just came across the Hyuga 64L. Spec wise this looks exactly like what I'm after. Were these rods a limited run? I noticed tackletrap was sold out on most of their Hyuga line. Is it still possible to source them and has anyone fished the 64L...

Re: Which reel is best for 1/10th to 1/8th ounce cranks/plug

Pair with the right rod, Pixy SPR can cast down to 1/16 oz. Reel is more important than the rods in BFS fishing. Pixy SPR spool weighs 15 gram stock, and adding 30-40 meters of line is easily going to push it over 20 grams. That is not going to cut it for 1/16 oz. Your numbers intrigue me I just we...

Re: Help with new UL rod

Another vote for the TSR series. I have a 801-2 and a 792 both are fantastic. The 792 has a bit more backbone but can still handle down to 1/32 and do an alright job of it. I mostly use a Vintage Certate 1500 which is roughly the size of a 2000 and it pairs nicely to the 792. My 09 Mg Complex is a F...

Re: Any upgrades for a PX68 SPR?

I have a SLP works edition with Daiwa Emeraldas paint from factory. I kept the handle because i like it and the upgrades are Carbontex drag, AIR BFS bearings and i think i did the level wind bearing upgrade... not sure. I have the reel mainly for small shad style crank mounted on either the Phase 3...
