Re: Budget Crankbait Rod
http://www.kistlerrods.com/store/fishing-rods/argon/argon-crank-bait-composite-glass-medium-7-0-cast-fishing-rod.html I have 4 of these and you can't even tell they are a composite rod I have two of the previous gen magnesium rods with this blank. I feel it's a bit underpowered for the 6xd's and la...

Re: ALX Powerbolt or Kistler He3 H 711 MAD
I have the H3 MAD rod. I think it may be better suited for heavy reaction baits vs the punching. I bought it for punching with the idea it would double for A-rigs or large swimbaits. It does have a very nice parabolic bend to it. In my mind though, the MAD rod needs to be XH vs H. When using it to p...

Diawa Zillion TWS 100P for cranking?
I'm looking for a reel to do deep cranking. In researching, this reel is the closest thing out there to the specifications of the Quantum cranking reel used by KVD... power reel with ~25in/turn. Not a quantum fan, so looking at options. I'm currently using a Chronarch 200e6 and may want to use that ...

Re: TW's redesigned website
Get used to this type of website format. Everyone using smart devices is what is driving websites to this design. They are designed to load better, view better, and function better on phones and tablets (ipad's).

Re: Rod Protection
I should also add, my rods have macro guides. smaller than traditional, larger than mirco. that makes the 5/8" braided sleeve good for my sticks. If you have traditional guides, you might want a larger diameter sleeve.

Re: Rod Protection
This video is actually how I learned to make them. If you make enough of them, then it's worth it from a cost standpoint. Watch the video, the only thing I really did different was stop trying to cut the braided sleeve with the hot knive. I just cut it with scissors, then immediately touched the cut...

Re: Rod Protection
I made my own. It's actually quite easy to do with the proper tools. I don't like the shelf rod sleeves, in my opinion the braided cable sleeve most use is too wide. I made about 18-20 with a 100' roll of the 5/8" braided material. I made mine all the same length and they work on my casting rods fro...

Re: Metanium '13 handle
Thanks.
Of course I've already placed my order with shimano! I'll order the washers if fitment becomes a concern.

Re: Metanium '13 handle
How do you safely remove the handle knob seals to get at the handle knob screws? Never done it before.

Re: Too many choices.... which shimano?
Having used my new Ci4's for a while now, I can honestly say I am very pleased with them. They perform very well. I've upgraded the handle on a few to the XG handle. To me they are a very good all around reel covering most bass fishing applications. Like many, I have my Met's reserved for my pitch/w...

Re: 13 Met vs. Chronarch CI4 Revisited
Having purchased a few Met's last year during the dollar strength vs the yen, i was left wondering what to get this year in order to complete some setups. The Met's dried up, i'm not paying $400+ in the US market, and didn't really want the curado. I really wanted to get the Ci4's, but because it's ...

I've upgraded a few of my Ci4's with the XG handle... I agree it should be the stock handle on everything Ci4 and higher.

Re: Too many choices.... which shimano?
They had met's and aldebaran's for 325. I almost picked up some met's but really needed more reels to fill some voids. But if I wake up tomorrow with any regrets.... I'll be back tomorrow!

Re: Too many choices.... which shimano?
I have to chime in on the Lew's as well, I only have one but I have caught a ton of fish on it an it has held up perfectly and is so close to my Shimano's costing much much more sometimes I wonder :-k maybe I should not have so much money wrapped up in the big two.... Kurt I'm really getting excite...
