Re: Constructing a sub-7' enthusiast-level heavy pitching stick (tip-down frogging + bottom-contact sensitivity)
Thanks, Hogsticker! Do you think 6" is too much to trim off that 7'4" Rainshadow Eternity to get it down to 6'10". If not, the K2 7′3″ Heavy (1/2-2 oz) might be trimmed 5" to 6'10". How do the Rainshadow Eternity compare to the K2s? Does anyone know if there's a rule of thumb for the percentage tha...

Re: Constructing a sub-7' enthusiast-level heavy pitching stick (tip-down frogging + bottom-contact sensitivity)
The new Rainshadow Eternity blanks might be worth a look. Plenty sensitive, nice blanks. I've read many comments comparing them to or liking better than the X Ray. They have a 7'4 heavy you could trim down. Not sure how much power you want, but this is gonna be a banger with 912 grams of power. The ...

Re: Conquest 843C MBR vs Poison Ultima PU1610MA (Medium Power)
That's a great chart, Drakestar - thanks! That illustrates exactly what your on-the-water experiences ratified. If the Glorius is 90 or so percent as sensitive, I'd choose its apparent edge in taper (for my purposes), forgiveness, and versatility at the same price, not to mention $300 cheaper. Exac...

Re: All new steez sv tw
There are other 32mm spools out there, but I agree, it was a mistake going away from the 34mm with all the different spool options. I'm going to stick with my original Steez SV TWs and my one CT model.

Re: Conquest 843C MBR vs Poison Ultima PU1610MA (Medium Power)
Thanks guys...with the PGs shipped in the $575 range and including enough of the halo Shimano tech to feel top tier (carbon handle etc), this looks like a really great option. At the PG's price, I don't have to seek max versatility and can pick a model that speaks to me in a more dialed in way. I'm...

Re: Conquest 843C MBR vs Poison Ultima PU1610MA (Medium Power)
The Ultima does have some additional tech built into some of the blanks, not all models. How much of it is just nonsense literature, and how much is actually beneficial in some way I have no idea. Here's the tech differences not found on the Glorious, and most of it is limited to specific models. M4...

SV boost and shallow SV boost spool question
Is anyone running either of these spools in the original Steez SV, USDM SV103 or one of the JDM limited models? Curious what the performance might be like.

Sick build
Not sure if you have looked, but Voodoo rods might be a good place to look for future builds. He's pretty good with sourcing as well.

Re: Best Topwater Lure of the Year, 2023
Did best with the Shimano World Pop this year. It's a fantastic popper. Casts like a bullet, spits a lot of water, chugs and pops, consistent, flash boost. I think I might even like it better than my OSP Louder. I just watched a few YouTube videos of the Shimano World Pop. It looks and moves pretty...

Anyone own either of these Steez rods
Interested in both the JDM Hurricane and Badger. I'm assuming that the Badger is the more powerful stick, but the ratings are the same. The Hurricane is an extra fast with a solid tip. The Badger has a variable taper, slow to fast. Anyone know what that means or looks and feels like? Just curious if...

Re: Calcutta Conquest SE
Last Shimano I owned was the 15 Metanium DC. Before that it was the old 50/51 series. This reel has me intrigued. So there are 3 versions of this? The standard higher line capacity, the BFS offering, and this mid depth spool version?
Re: GeeCrack
Heck, I mix other soft plastics inside my Geecrack bags. The more stank the better.
