Re: Daiwa Tournament Z-G rods and Z-I rods

Re: Alpha 105 or Pixy PX68 or PX spool for SOL
I have been thinking about another finesse reel. I really like my Pixy, SOL, Fuego (2 with PE shallow spools), and my hybrid 105 really a 103 with 105 spool in it. I have been thinking about the PX68 (not the SPR other than the handle and drag star) or the Alpha 105. The Alpha holds less line (whic...

Re: Fineese 2pc baitcast rod.
I have the Emeraldas 86-ML teamed to a Zillion HLC. There's not much it won't cast. I mainly use it with TN50 Jackalls and unweighted Ribbets Bull Frogs. Thanks for the reply mate. Do you think the tip section is quite stiff as being an eging rod? I think eging rods are usually quite stiff in the t...

Re: What features decide a baitcast reel can throw light lur
I just do a little bit of mod on my Aurora to test the "free spool time". I remove the 3 magnets which are not controlled by the mag brake dial. I only leave the 5 magnets which are controllable. So now when I dial the mag brake to minimum, the spool is REALLY not affected by any braking force due t...

Re: What features decide a baitcast reel can throw light lur
A quick question: So now I am thinking of upgrading the spool bearings of the Aurora and I have sent an email to bocabearings.. They asked me whether the Aurora has 2 or 3 spool bearings cos some abu revo series reels have 2 and some have 3.....They don't know as they haven't deal with the Aurora be...

Re: What features decide a baitcast reel can throw light lur
Some new findings..... Just now I take off the side plate of the Aurora and test the "free spool time". Wow.....It rotates 17s before stops. :o  Then when I put the side plate back, it becomes 4s again.... So I wonder the mag. break on the side plate is still applying a quite large breaking f...

Re: What features decide a baitcast reel can throw light lur
Thanks for the detailed inputs. =D> I haven't put lines on my Aurora yet. Yes, it definitely has a deeper spool than Cardiff 50DC and which can hold 145m of 0.3mm dia line. But I wonder how heavy the line would be ? (eg. mono, or plus the water while u wet it.) I have no idea at all but even if it w...

Re: Revo SX vs. STX
How many seconds could your Revo free spool rotate usually? ( Without line, without brake..)
Mine Aurora only gets 4 second.......I wonder if Abu's spool bearings are not as good as Daiwa's or Shimano's (cos I hvn't owned any Abu's reel before).
I am thinking of upgrading them into ABEC7....

Re: Fineese 2pc baitcast rod.
Thanks for comments. The St.croix premier looks great, but I am in Australia so that would be a bit difficult for me to get one. Also, it would be better if it is longer. (Though I can import one myself but the postage from USA to Aus is quite expensive from my memory :-# ) For the graphiteleader's ...

Fineese 2pc baitcast rod.
I am always looking for a new fineese baitcast rod with softer tip that able me to cast some lighter lures but it needs to be 2 piece. I found this one before and it seems nice, but it is an eging rod (for squid). Light power, being only 100g in weight and with the suitable egi size down to 1.8 (whi...

What features decide a baitcast reel can throw light lures?
First of all, glad to see that the forum has been recovered, but sad that many precious threads were lost. :( As the topic suggests that I would like to know more about what features decide if a baitcast reel can throw light lures (maybe this had been asked before.) Till now, the features I know are...
