Re: yamamoto fluoro

Ok, that's not too bad price-wise but I still don't think it's better than Seaguar and, it's 200 yards for $15.00

rb pretty well covered it; no help in casting but does feel 'right' when working the bait or playing a Bass.

Re: yamamoto fluoro

I, like a fool, tried it a few years ago. Never again! I will pay top dollar for tackle but that line is no better than Seaguar's and is priced obscenely high.

On the other hand, I love their Senkos...... ;)

Re: A little MB help

Welcome to TT Dalcar! Those are two exceptional MB rods. I have one of each and would recommend them highly. The Shiryu would be a good choice for treble hook baits too.

Re: Pixy use

I don't tournament fish but I fish about 12 hours a week, spread over 4 or 5 days. I have no rod lockers on my little boat so the two orange Pixies(and one Sol) get banged around and so far, no paint deterioration. They have become my favorite reels....after DR tuned them ;) . I throw just about eve...

Re: Basstrix substitute....

Not a good bait with the hook I used. No action at all. Cal recommended a weighted, Falcon hook but I don't have one yet.

Re: Viva lure

I have a couple of Viva's Pencil lures. They are a slender, wooden floater and they are fantastic topwater baits. Never tried the one you got though.

Basstrix substitute....

I just got a pack(4 baits-Pearl w/Chartreuse back) of these and though I haven't fished them yet, they do look like a good substitute. I rigged one on a 5/0 Sugoi hook and secured the bait's nose to the hook eye with a piece of a toothpick. Hope to go soon and see if I get bit.

Re: Large Mouth Bass

Bass fishing is growing in south africa. I have a friend in the military over there, the guy fished in the states for over 10 years, catchs the biggest bass of his lifetime on his first outing across the pond. For years there have been rumblings about bass weighing in the teens on treasure lake in ...

Welcome to TT from a Florida-born Southerner. My best buddy lives in JAX but he doesn't fish saltwater.

TT has been the reason for several of my tackle purchases too. ;)

Re: anyone used any of Kistlers Helium 2 LTX telescopic rods

I too found the LTX's handle material disconcerting when my neighbor handed it to me the other day. I said nothing about it and neither did he. As far as I know at this time, he's in love with that rod. He's handled my MBs but has had only 'average' rods up until now except for the HE76HC I sold him...
