Re: Reels Over Rated Or Under Rated
The IS71 with the brass gears is a really fantastic reel that never got a ton of press. Also I think the PX type R was underrated as is exceptionally smooth and refined. Stick a CP-301 spool in it and its an all time great reel. Other amazing reels that don't get as much press due more to price than...

Re: What piece of cheap or tackle gear do you use and love?
Cabelas Crankshaft, I like it way more than any high end rod I have tried for chatterbaits and big crankbaits.

Re: Newer Reels
I really don't get all the complaining as with old and new reels we can have the best of both worlds and everyone can have exactly what they want. Those of us that like the more solidly built older reels can still purchase them used and get them serviced to perform like new and add whatever upgrades...

Re: World's Lightest for Class? Gamakatsu Yoihime Luxxe Hana S610UL L-solid 2018
I was interested in this series as well. I know you said it has good backbone and isn't a noodle but how would you rate the taper? Is it a true extra fast taper or is it moderate enough you could use it for Crappie as well?

How does the Finezza compare to the TICT Ice Cube or Drift in terms of sensitivity?

Re: Strike King Thunder Cricket
They licensed its use from Z Man. Basically they are paying Z Man to copy the Jackhammer and offer it for a couple bucks less. I suppose that makes sense since Strike King sponsors most pros on tour it probably didn't look good that all their pros were using another companies bladed jig and Z-Man. ...

Strike King Thunder Cricket
So I saw strike king released a new bladed jig the thunder cricket in classic week. What very much surprises me is that the blade appears to be attached directly to the head. I know Z-Man shut down everyone who used to make a better bladed jig with the directly attached head so everyone would be for...

Re: Zpi nrc001 m and pg with braid?
General question: How much different really are the M and PG ZPI spools? Besides their respective line capacity, I'm curious about this and rather than starting a new thread I figured I'd quote this. These have been out for awhile so maybe someone can chime in on their experiences with the two spoo...

Thanks! I have never used a high end 2 piece rod before and didn't know they made them like that.

Re: Stuck 2 Piece Rod
I was able to get it apart but I can't figure out any way to actually get it put together and snug, I get to the last inch or so and can't get it to go any more together no matter how hard I try.

Re: Stuck 2 Piece Rod
But how to I get it put together? I feel like I am going to break it trying to get it together and it just gets stuck.

Stuck 2 Piece Rod
I got my Abu Eradicator Realfinesse rod in the mail today but when I went to put the two pieces together they got stuck about half way down. Now I can't take the 2 parts apart or push it down all the way to fit. It such a fragile rod I don't want to force it as hard as I can with fear of breaking th...

Re: Best combo for a chatterbait?
It depends on your hookset. If you set the hook as hard as you can stepping backwards in the boat like Brett Hite then you want a heavy action cranking rod like he uses to absorb your hookset and not pull the bait away. If your hookset is to just load up the rod by turning your hips like a crankbait...

Re: Nautilus vs X7 Extreme Mission vs Red Demon
If I am remembering correctly... Google translated: I was drunk when it went down... I just decided since its appearance was already compromised from shortening the handle I minds well go all in with putting function over form and get rid of the trigger as well. But I have left all my other rods in...

Re: Megabass Destroyer Javelin?
Thank you for all the feedback guys. How does this rod handle the lighter line side (10-12lb) of things? This is one of the things I really like about the Javelin. 12 Lb Tatsu is my line of choice as I get greater casting distance and ease especially with lighter baits. With the Javelin you can sti...
