Re: Daiwa BG 3000 or fuego lt 4000
If your quest is long term durability I think the BG would be it. I have a smaller BG and think it is great, and while I have not fished a Fuego I have fished other reels in the LT line and think they are some of the best spinning reels made. The obvious difference is the one you already mentioned, ...

daiwa BLX Rods
Wondering if anyone has fished with any of the BLX rods. I have handled a few but not fished with or cast any. Wondering if anyone can speak from experience. Thanks

Re: Blank recommendation.
Quite a few rods will handle that range. I assumed from your original post that you would like a rod around 7'. Often a longer rod will have a wider range of weights but several people listed some very fine blanks that I am sure will suit your needs. Taking into consideration that a 3/8 jig will wei...

Re: Blank recommendation.
Well from a 3/8 oz jig to a 2 3/4 oz whopper plopper is certainly a wide range. I tend to believe that a rod that will handle at the bottom end will probably not do the top end well and vice a versa. I know of no MH that is rated anywhere close to 2 3/4 oz so I tend to think what you want is not ava...

Rod repair
So I build a few rods every year but I repair a "lot" of rods every year. My present problem is that I took in a Major Craft UL to repair a guide. Before I start, my question is, if anyone has repaired a solid tip rod where the guide that needs to be replace is located at the junction of the two mat...

Re: Daiwa Kage
To answer a few of the questions. The Kage rods are around $200. I have been using one of the Frog rods for the past year and i am completely satisfied with it. Not a technique that demands top sensitivity but the rod seem well above average in that department. I have also handled, not fished, some ...

Re: Stradic FL
While I admire the precision of really good reels, both spinning and b/c, there is a point at which the improvements are hard to discern. The Exist is a wonderful reel and I really enjoy mine. I also have an older Certate that continues to preform well along with several Stadics of older vintage. Wi...

Re: shipping rods
I have, over the course of years, received some broken rods and while it is true that some sellers pack better than others, I don't necessarily think it is always the fault of the seller. I have received rods in what I thought were sturdy tubes crushed and others that were in triangular boxes make i...

Kage ultralight
For anyone interested the Kage ULs are now on the Daiwa site. I have seen and handled several of them and they are very appealing. They are not built to be the lightest, the ones I have handled all had heavier guides than an ultralight needed but they feel great and have a nice handle.
Curado 70
Has any one heard if they are being discontinued or up dated. I notice Tackle Warehouse is discounting them.

I really think it is just about money, not product. For the right money I would certainly change brands, of underwear or almost anything else.

Re: Kage ultralight
Ranger 619VS we did not order any of the reels. I kinda felt they were dressed up Tatulas like you said. This doesn't mean that your shop will not have them or that if a customer came into our store and asked I would not order one for them. I do think the rods are cool and don't know of any other so...

For Ranger and anyone else with an interest. We received our first Kage ULs today. Every bit as cool as I thought they were in August.

Re: Shimano Senilite Rod
I handled them back in August and liked them enough to order some. Have not received them yet, I'm not sure if any have shipped yet.
