Re: Which reel for my Helium 3, 7' heavy?

A great budget option would be the Tatula SV. It skips as well as any reel I have used. It does long-distance pretty well, too. The 7.3 gears have speed as well as adequate torque for chatterbaits. I have been hesitant of the Tatula SV, been buying higher end only. Got it in my head that the dual s...

Re: Daiwa Steez SV 103XSL

I will be doing this comparison in a few days I have a Met 13 XG, Met. MGL XG and a Steezs SV 103XSL both of the Mets have the Brass gear conversion. I have them spooled with the same line so it will be a head to head test. I just bought a Curado K 201XG yesterday and it is going back today! I'm no...

I thought they were completely out of stock and production?!

Also if I have to pay 230 USD for the SV103 wondering if for 70 USD more the Steez SV103 is a better choice.

Re: Daiwa Steez SV 103XSL

I was stupid and sold my SV103XS because I thought I would want to try something new. Now I miss the reel and think of getting a Daiwa Steez SV 103XSL instead (300 USD). How does the reel perform with 1/2-3/4 oz Jigs and Paddle tail swimbaits?

Thanks

Re: Which reel for my Helium 3, 7' heavy?

I tested the Bantam and it was great. Just a bit heavy. With the ebay Memorial discount I am considering also some older Lews that seem to have a good combination of line capacity and weight. * Lew's Team Pro Magnesium Speed Spool ACB for 180 USD * Lew's Team Lew's LITE Speed Spool LFS Not sure how ...

Re: Which reel for my Helium 3, 7' heavy?

I have a Met MGL on mine and think it feels great, super light. Not sure how well it will hold up to high resistance baits however. One thing I noticed with heavier reels is since the rod is so light, the combo feels off balance. Might just be me though and I need to hit the gym though  Yeah, ...

Which reel for my Helium 3, 7' heavy?

Hi all, I need your help with one of these first world problems. I am looking for a reel that I can put on my Kistler Helium 3, 7' heavy. I would use the combo for a combination of: * 3/8 - 1/2 oz Jigs (that I also would like to skip under docs) * paddle tail swimbaits (up to 1oz including trailer) ...

Re: Daiwa Zillion handle

Just for giggles, I just went and swapped a Zillion R knob onto a used Zillion TW HD I have in the shop. Fits perfectly fine. Did you make sure you didn’t leave the bushing in the bottom of your SV103 knobs? https://preview.ibb.co/mKUF3y/AF867_E52_DBA2_45_DD_9_E43_D1_CEC08_B39_BE.jpg Interesting. W...

Looking for some walkie talkies

Hi all, every now and then I am going to some very remote areas to fish where there is no cell phone signal. Since my wife freaks out at this and I would also feel more comfortable to call somebody in case I broke a leg I am looking into buying a pair of walkie talkies. I am a little bit overwhelmed...

Re: Daiwa Zillion handle

I had the same issue. I used a fork where I bend all but two of the fingers back. Still havent found knobs that fit the handle of the Zillion HD though. Did you have any luck? Any Daiwa or RCS knob will fit it. It does not! I tried the knobs of my SV103 on the Zillion HD and the knobs do not fit......

Reviews on Antares DC MD?

Hi there,

I am wondering if anybody has any experience/ reviews handy for the reel. I sold my 2016 Antares DC in order to get the reel since it is saltwater safe and has more line capacity.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks!
