Re: Translation of Shimano Japan lure symbols
Thanks Poisonokie. Makes sense what you're saying. Your only 'don't know' I also don't know haha, but might be a soft swimbait on a jighead?

Translation of Shimano Japan lure symbols
Hey guys, I'm contemplating buying one of the new Poison Adrena rods. On the Japanese Shimano website there is a matrix with lure symbols where it says which rods can be used for which lures. Some pretty obvious and it is clear what lure is depicted, for instance the frog and swimbait, but others ar...

Re: Daiwa Luvias vs. Certate
I don't have a certate, but own a 2012 2506 Luvias and it's great. very light, buttery smooth, also the drag which has a nice sounding ' click'. have fished it a lot and tested the drag on nice fish and it's been flawless. main difference between certate and luvias is the frame material: if you ask ...

Re: Nautilus vs X7 Extreme Mission vs Red Demon
interesting read. In 2014 I was looking for a do it all rod and was almost settled on the nautilus when I 'found' the EM. Not sure why exactly, but I ended up buying the EM. Apart from the looks, which are amazing, I wasn't that overwhelmed at start. I thought it was too fast and stiff for versatili...

Re: Orochi XXX Jadepython vs new Destroyer VLC for bottom contact
Hi jerkbait22, thanks again for the info. Based on your input I think the orochi will be great for my applications and I might just go and order it. Still interested though in info on the destroyer especially in comparison with the orochi. Anyone here with some useful input on the destroyer in this ...

Re: Orochi XXX Jadepython vs new Destroyer VLC for bottom contact
Yes, the slantbridge must be sweet, but this is out of my scope. The orochi xxx jadepython is the one i'm considering. I own the jadepython. I really like it but it's definitely on the lighter side of the rating. I'd say it's sweet spot is 1/8-1/4oz. It's been best to me for ned rigging. If you're ...

Re: Alphas CT 70 in stock at Digitaka!
I have a Alphas SV 105 which I really like. Is this CT 70 the successor of the 105? 70 vs 105 suggest it be smaller/lighter but weight is almost the same. It's not lighter. It's not smaller - only the spool. The spool holds roughly 20 - 25 yards less of line, and is made of the G1 duraluminum mater...

Orochi XXX Jadepython vs new Destroyer VLC for bottom contact
Hi guys, I'm looking for a ML spinning rod for mainly bottom contact applications. I'm considering the Orochi XXX Jadepython F3-610XS and new Destroyer F3-610XS VLC. Destroyer is obviously a more expensive rod with better components and a bit lighter. Orochi is fast, Destroyer medium-fast. Lure rati...

Re: JDM spinning reel suggestions needed
Hi Hogsticker, Bit late on the reply. Not sure if you have already made a decision, but I have the Luvias 2506 and I really like it. It's light, smooth and powerful and drag is good. I paired it with my Daiko light powered rod, the S610LS, which I used (rod broke recently  ) for perch fishing h...

Re: 1 JDM rod for frogs, jerks, cranks, swimbaits?
PS: for everyone who doesn’t want to read my CRAZY long previous post, here’s the short version :) Based on everyone’s input/advise and my own preferences, I came to the conclusion that the Megabass Destroyer phase 3 F5-76X Nautilus is probably the best rod for me. But just before ordering the rod, ...

Re: 1 JDM rod for frogs, jerks, cranks, swimbaits?
Hi everyone, After a week of re-reading all your posts and other info I gathered on the web, thinking and weighing the pro's and cons of the different rods on my shortlist, I have ALMOST made my decision. But let me start by thanking you for all the useful and interesting info you posted in this dis...
