Re: Shimano Stella Fi, any reviews?
Im afraid you won't get much help from members on this forum. If your post topic was, "how many Stella Fi's do you own?" I am sure you will get a ton of replies with guys bragging how many they have.... So...why are you here again? To the o.p., the shimano stella is a legendary spinning reel...

Re: Tsunami™ Cork Lures any good?
Never used them personally, but all reports are that they're not nearly as good as the Paul Brown's Corky. Apparently they tear up after fewer fish, as well, so you might go through that 50 a little faster than you think.

Re: Surf Casting Reel
I asking not because I'm going for a 3 days trip or something. Whenever I use my stella on a saltwater environment like jetty fishing or mangrove fishing, which is usually a one day trip, I always soak my stella in hot tap water to melt and remove all salt particles. I'm asking more for the suitabi...

Re: Revo Premier
For some reason I thought the 1st generation Revos included the S, SX & STX, with the Premier first showing up during the 2nd generation... thus... only 2 generations of the Premier. I've been wrong many, many times! oe Gen1 had the straight handle, Gen 2 came back with the curved carbon handle, an...

Re: Surf Casting Reel
regarding the stella. It has too many bearings, too many parts that can go wrong in a salt water environment and it's not easily serviceable. I know several surf guys and offshore fishermen who would completely disagree with that statement. The 4000 freshwater version FE might no be great for salt ...

Re: Surf Casting Reel
I'm new to surf casting though I've been fishing and luring all my life. I understand that there reels specially designed for beach surf cast, however I hardly go to the beach but whenever I go, I feel the need to get a 12" surf cast rod to do some surf fishing while enjoying time with my family. I...

Re: Rod Handles: Split Grip or Full Grip?
I voted split grip, only because that's what the majority of my rods have at this point, but really it's all about the balance for me. If a rod with a full grip balances better, that's the one I'll get. I'm usually holding the rod around the seat and the reel anyway, so it doesn't make that much of ...

Re: Help with old Scorpion 1500 spool bearings sizes
This should match the bearing size for the Bantam Curado, I believe. There is a 3mmx10mmx4mm bearing under the palm side plate, and another under the spool tension knob. There is also a 5x11x4 attached to the spool. http://www.bocabearings.com/productdetail.aspx?ItemID=22907&MODSYSID=9613&ProductSub...

I can see that, especially since (according to 13 fishing) this rod is supposed to rival many of the high end JDM rods in performance. Anybody got a picture of the handle and reel seat on this thing?

What did any of these reels have, Abu to Zillion (I know apples and oranges) that was new tech or design? The beast: Nothing zillion: no new tech, but a new combination of existing tech Conquest: First time on American shores officially, all of shimano's latest tech in a round reel Concept KP: Lots...

Re: Icast 2014
Past couple of years, iCasts have been kind of meh for me. Like last year at icast, the product that was most excited about was Savage's weighted crawfish hook that was disguised as an egg sac :D But this year- holy sh*t there's a lot of awesome new stuff. Agreed, it's like every company decided to...

I'm really interested in this rod, too. My next rod decision just got a whole lot harder! Wish I had a decent tackle shop nearby that was getting these new rods in so I could hold them.
