The fact that the Expride is marked up an extra 100$ here compared to Japan, can anyone even justify the extra money for a new Adrena?

Only really used Shimano and St-Croix. Plan on Megabass and G-loomis in the future. Will probably sway me off Shimano.

I have trouble too, balancing light weight on the rig but also with current and not snagging bottom.

Didn't like the VMC spinshot hooks and now use only Gamakatsu hooks.
