Great looking setup! I’ve always been intrigued by the Edge rods and have almost pulled the trigger multiple times on new and/or used rods.
Just very happy with my Zbones (love those X-ray blanks) and finally realizing more is not always better.
Are you using the Castaway line still?

Re: Battery Setup for Helix 7
Just got the Nocqua 10ah... replacing a sealed 7ah.. about half the weight and don't need a waterpoof box. Will sit in a tray under a hatch. Looking forward to it. *I did get one from a local seller but it didn't have the new 2020 charger- which is a big improvement. returned it (looked at it in my ...

Re: Do you guys always use reel covers and rod sleeves?
Rod sleeves for the AGS rods, nothing for anything else. I store rods with sleeves and reels in covers over the winter.

Re: Most sought after Daiwa 34mm spool
the ZPI PG and M spools are just about perfect . 😀 I have a lot of the spools mentioned and though I’m liking the Steez 103 Type r+, and even the Ito Kanji, those ZPI are special. I’m using the spools for specific presentations/lures similar to most folks as well. The Steez A spools aren’t half bad-...

Re: North Fork Composite HM-XRay Blank Question
I have some of the earliest X-ray Zbones and had some new ones mid/late last year. I noticed they down rated similar blanks- the MH went from 1oz. to 3/4oz. For example. They don’t seem to make the light powered longer rods anymore- 7’3” Medium for example. The early blanks (serial #s below 5) are v...

Re: Sensitive jig rod
I’ve got the Steez BC and and a Zbone (x-ray). The BC is flat out amazing- as others have said, the more I fish with it the more I feel they got it ‘right’. The Zbone is not shabby however- mine is a 7’3” MH Mod Fast so deeper bend and not apples to apples. You pick it up and think there’s no way it...

Anytime the AC goes out is bad in my house as well -so I can feel for ya! Good luck.
Yeah- the Steez BC rod is what I use to measure other sticks. And the Steez 76MML. I thought my Zbones were sensitive ( and they are)!
Sorry for the thread hijack 18ranger.

I sold all my baitcasters and kept 2 Steez A. That’s how confident I am in them. Yeah- I have a bunch of different spools for different scenarios....

Re: Rod damage- how to repair
Mark, that's brilliant! I was going to fish it till it broke and make it a 6'7" or 6'8" rod. :) I think I can do that. How bad will that mess up the balance? Right now, for a 7'3" rod, it's amazingly light (1/16 to 1/2oz lures) and awesome. I guess alternatives are few and far between. This is one o...

Re: Rod damage- how to repair
Good recommendations so far, but ugh Sounds worse than I thought. The crack is behind the handle. These are all probably beyond my skillz- which means I’ve never done any rod building. 😃 This is prolly my favorite rod- balances perfectly with a 5.5 a 6.5oz reel. Had thought about cutting it down to ...

Rod damage- how to repair
So, walking up some concrete steps, I tripped and the rod in my hand hit the stairs. UGH. Luckily, it hit behind the handle. What can I (should I) do to prevent it from getting worse? Thought about using some black electrical tape.
This is a 2019 Kistler Zbone Medium 7'3" casting rod.

What rod(s) have you used with the A-70?
That would be an interesting side-by-side duel between these two reels.

Re: Steez Bottom Contact & Shimano Poison Adrena
I think the Racing Design uses Toray 1100 carbon and the handle seems similar. No cork on the AGS. I've only thrown mine in the yard (dagnabbit this weather). When I took it out of the tube, I thought, ugh, did I just buy an expensive broom stick. I've been using a Zbone MH Mod Fast for my bottom co...

Yeah, not a fan of the big logo on the side. Tempting, but I think I can do whatever I need to throw with a ZPI M spool and a Steez A.

Re: One Nice All-Purpose Spinning rod
Gary- is there any significant difference between the 76MML and the 7M Steez AGS. Well, besides the length (and the 76mml can handle slightly lighter weights). I know the 76MML is the 'unicorn' spinning rod and you've used terms like 'magic'... does the 7M follow in it's bigger sibling's traits? Tha...
