Are there any other smaller walking topwaters in the 1/4 to 3/8 ounce range?
Duo Pencil 85 is 3/8oz and walks well with a little splash.

Is the 610 medium a one or two piece? If two, does it come apart at the top of the reel seat?
2 piece and yes.

Re: NRX+ Recoil Guides

I was using braid to flourocarbon leader and threw my first cast. Instant backlash (worst ever) and confusion. As I was dealing with my new found mess I found the problem. Somehow the braid got caught in between the fourth recoil guide in a way I have seen line get between swivels on lures. Do you ...

Re: Shimano vanford vs vanquish vs twinpower vs daiwa luvias airity

Currently am in the mood to buy a new reel for my recently acquired st. Croix legend xtreme lxs76mlxf2. Been narrowing it down to the following: Shimano vanford Shimano Vanquish 2019 Shimano twinpower FD 2020 Daiwa luvias airity All of them in 2500/3000 size. Will be using mostly carolina rig and h...

Re: Owner Hyper Wire Split Rings

Hey TT, Has anyone ever noticed any Owner split rings where the two wires were not perfectly parallel to one another? I have gotten several packs in all sizes lately that have this issue. They appear to be slightly stretched out, as if they were applied to an eyescrew too big for them to fit, but t...

I also planned on doing the Carbontex drag because I am 90% sure each model I own has the felt washers.
You don't want carbontex, that wouldn't be an upgrade. For lower drag settings (freshwater bass fishing) felt is smoother with lower startup inertia - that's why they come with felt.

I have the original 76 Steez, it's an amazing rod but at times i find the tip a touch soft.
The new 76mml solves this - tip is definitely crisper with faster recovery.

Still the original 76 is my goto spybait rod, fish just do not come off on that setup.

Re: Zalts nylon monofilament

You're looking at something else - Zalts is a budget made in Jpn line - 150yds 9.99.

I've used the 7lb fluoro, wasn't bad. Might give 6 a try next.

Worm gear is not tight tolerance and not a lot of load on it, I see nothing wrong with plastic material.
Plenty of things to b*tch about in reels, Shimano/Daiwa/otherwise - plastic worm gear ain't one of them lol

The ltd is Tatsu, but comes in odd # sizes. I always pick up a spool of 5lb when I order anything from jpn.

but with this exist being the first off the specific platform i wouldnt imagine it would be a major update when they do, more or less and incremental upgrade. Wouldn't that argue for a major redesign since it was the first MQ freshwater platform? Esp now that the Luvias Airity is basically a carbon...

This all makes me hesitant to buy one. I still cannot decide between the 7.1 and 8.5 either, now with the paint issues I don't know what to do. Most say this is an absolute top tier reel though.
By the time you decide the next Zillion will be out
