Re: Which swbt rod to choose?

I have an original one piece Megabass White Python that I use for quite a few different techniques. On the swimbait side, I generally top out at about 2 to 2.5 oz max- a 3:16 Freestyle Shad or Bluegill, a Baby Wake, etc. are at the upper end of what I'm comfortable tossing on the WP. I have thrown t...

Re: Breaking in a few new combos on Falcon

All that said if you get the chance right now is the time on Falcon...it killed me to have to leave No time is a bad time on Falcon! I love that lake 8-) Congrats! =D> On the NRX, I'd contact Bantam 1 here and have a new rod sent to you before trying any repairs. They will send you a new one at no ...

Re: What MB rod do you use for a-rigs?

The Mephisto handles the rig very nicely - especially when fishing it in a non-traditional way  Of course, the White Python is a great choice. I've tossed a "lighter" 5 wire with the X4 Destruction with no problems at all - all 1/8 oz heads and smaller baits on a fairly light rig - total weight...

I have a LH high speed on order... I hope to have it by the end of the month, but who knows. I haven't been this excited about a Shimano reel in some time, but I have high hopes for this one 8-)

Re: Daiwa Z200H

Gary....I was casting an SR 7 with 12lb Pline CXX on an MHX CB907 with my Z2020H late last fall (water was in the mid 40s)...not a great distance, but as good as some others who would fish this combo with 8 - 10lb mono on a spinning rig. Some other gigs for my Z: - 3/8- 1oz + spinnerbaits & buzzbai...

Wow Jerry! Great find! =D>

I could see one of those Alphas R's making a beautiful match to that new Rattle Viper and the Aldebaran MG7s going on the NRX 803 and the Super Orochi 8-)

Re: Daiwa Z200H

I've put a lot of time in with my Z200HL and am in love with this reel - and the 3D braking in general. Despite it's weight and size that scares some guys away (weight weenies  ), it's a very impressive machine. It made a recent trip with me to the St. Johns River in Florida, matched up with an...

Re: stradic 1000 or 2500 for bronzeback 6'3" light?

Today I had a chance to play with Stradic FJ and Sustain FG, and man was I disappointed. They both had a non-refined, mechanical feel when spinning the handle compared to previous versions of each reel (Stradic FI and Sustain FE). Of course I'm being pretty picky, but these are not cheap reels, esp...

Re: deep cranking rod

Loomis has a gaping hole in their crankbait rod lineup for a truly outstanding deep cranking rod in my opinion. Hopefully that will be resolved in the near future, but who knows. In the meantime, my deep cranking duties are handled very nicely by the Shimano Cumara 7'11"MH (CUC711MH). I have mine pa...

Re: nsx 852s, what's this rod good for?

It's an absolutely phenomonal 1/4 oz jig rod - in fact, I think it's the most sensitive, most ideal 1/4 oz jig spinning rod I've ever used. I spent a LOT of time with this rod this past winter fishing for smallmouth in deep, clear water and it was fantastic. I also toss a lot of 1/4 oz tubes in the ...

Re: NRX 802 or 852

The 802s feels noticeably lighter in power in my hands than the 852s. The 852s is my go to 1/4 oz jig rod in the winter time fishing lighter lines for smallies in clear water. It also makes a fantastic tube rod as well as a great 4" senko rod. The 802s is a fine little rod, but I found myself using ...

Re: Loomis QC continued....

I'll discuss my personal experience with the Loomis NRX rods as someone who purchased several from the first production run. I had an 854 from the first production run that had an adhesive failure - it was replaced by Loomis at no cost to me and without the use of the wildcard of course. The 873 I h...
