Re: ZBone General purpose spinning rod

(most spin handles make me wonder if the makers even fish them My favorites are exposed threads in front of the stem and 'backward' vss... Jokes aside, vss is my favorite (as in steez or tatula) and I avoid most with lock nut in front of the stem. Reel seat is probably the biggest factor for me whe...

Re: ZBone General purpose spinning rod

I had 6 of them (2020 versions) being a smallmouth angler. I’ve fished a ton of upper end spins over the years. Sensitivity wise as I know that’s typically the first question that arises with most any rod they’re as good as any I’ve ever fished. The tapers could use some work if you’re one who prefe...

In all my years here I have never seen anyone send in a reel that used them.
I use them on all of my Stella FJ’s (the only reels I use) but have never had a need to send any of them in.

Re: It's True: ElaZtech does indeed melt...

Of course it’s true. Says so on the package. :D I’ve got 100+ bags of it just in my “ned” bag. No worries of anything happening as that’s all that’s in there. The safest way to store is in the original bags. The BinderZ work great and are my grab and go. The new baitlockerZ is the stay at home vault...

Some guys call them fairy wands other guys call them sissy sticks. I call them my favorite rods to use when pounding 5 lb smallmouth bass on lake Erie. :big grin:
Yes sir.

I also never understood the “fairy wands” speak as I have a good many made on “casting” blanks.

Re: What do "new" spinning reels offer?

The faster gear ratios are the main reason. It is a big difference if you fish quickly. or even if you don’t fish quickly as most of my presentations are on the finesse side. I do appreciate being able to catch up to a tank smallmouth running toward me. It’s there when I need it. I do much prefer t...

Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?

All I fish are smallmouth. Been that way since the early/mid 90’s after a TON of multi species fishing growing up. Upper end spins for me. That’s where my $ has went for years now and will continue to do so. No rights no wrongs here as we all use the best tools we can.

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!

I wouldn't get your hopes up for a new NRX. I asked Ben from The Hookup Tackle about them and he said only new rods will be in the salmon lineup. The bass rods will be staying the same. I know a guy fishing prototypes of the NRX bass series. I’m sure you’ve heard of him. I have no horse in the Loom...

Re: Stradic CI4+ on clearnce...new model coming?

I hope they get rid of the red this time... I doubt you care. We’ll get more Stella FJ’s. Ordered another tonight for a stick that the UPS guy (he fishes) delivered and was nice enough to lean against the garage out of the rain while I was at work. It was a tight race between another FJ or Ex...

Re: Stradic CI4+ on clearnce...new model coming?

Most companies are doing their absolute best to partake in the virtual ICAST. Of course a good many will be lagging with that endeavor depending on whether distancing has eased within their facilities.

Re: Stradic CI4+ on clearnce...new model coming?

No ICAST this year but there seems to be some out of the ordinary drops coming. At least for companies that I have ties to. You didn’t miss anything sir. The new CI4 will be popular from what I know from those that have Shimano ties.
