Re: NRX+ Recoil Guides

I’ve had at least a dozen NRX and now the new one. They have always had braid on them (spins). No issues.

Re: Rod broken on arrival

Just had the same thing happen as well. I also bought the rod from American Legacy. The were great. Shipping me a replacement and sent a return label for the broken rod. I don't think you will have any issues with ALF I’ve purchased/traded at least three dozen rods with them over the years. While I...

Re: 3 Generation Stradic Tuning

I also planned on doing the Carbontex drag because I am 90% sure each model I own has the felt washers. You don't want carbontex, that wouldn't be an upgrade. For lower drag settings (freshwater bass fishing) felt is smoother with lower startup inertia - that's why they come with felt. Exactly sir.

901 - 1/16 - 1/8 marabou or 1/16 (what us east coast river smallmouth guys call a sled, flutter head w/finesse plastic. 902 - heavier horizontal moving bait rod ie spy baits, small paddle tails or will bomb cast a soft jerkbait Both keep pig smallmouth pinned in current. I’ve got both, a couple 872s...

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!

St Croix craftsmanship is way down too. I heard recently that they have been calling custom rod makers and trying to get them to do rod repairs. The build quality on the 872 I purchased is better than the 5 OG NRXs I have or had at one point. Is it a Megabass build quality? No, but I’m buying these...

Re: Shimano Monocoque Handle

Guys that hold a spin with the stem between their fingers have it easy. There are very few (most notably the ridiculous down locking nut renditions) that I find comfortable that allow for heel of the hand to rest where the handle hits the blank with fingers extended on the blank. Whatever works.

Re: Shimano Monocoque Handle

06.jpg Screenshot_20210716-121746_YouTube.jpg Looks like the next Expride indeed. Love the handle changes. The handle has been the only reason I’ve never added an Expride spin as I’m one of those that prefer to be above the stem with fingers around the blank (conquest, new nrx). I’ll be curious of ...

My Stella FJ’s and Antares 70’s.

Re: Nrx+ 872 vs steez 76mml

Yes sir despite the NY portion of my sign in I was in NY eons ago when this site began. I now reside in WV (15 years) and chew some of the same dirt (water) as you so to speak. I know from experience that the 902 in NRX or Conquest will absolutely launch a fluke, good size lightly weighted/unweighte...

Re: Nrx+ 872 vs steez 76mml

I want one high end spinning rod to replace a previous generation nrx852s that was stolen [-( [-( I always felt the 852 was a little too powerful for my preferred spinning applications. I'm looking for a rod a pick up in power where my st croix avid 76mlxf can't handle it, but with a similar lively...

NRX are probably best for bottom contact
I think that there are some clear winners in the NRX lineup for “up in the column” bites.

Now that aside the NRX chatter rod is a tweener of the two IMX models also designed for chatters.
