Watching some of the videos online, spool is little heavier than 30mm KTF spool for Steez CT which is surprising. Also, drag star does not click and there is no audiable drag like in Steez CT.
All of that is kind of disappointing

Re: High Speed Reels 8:1 Plus?

I have a handful of reels that are 8:1 and soon will have one thats 9:1 (though its gonna be a steez air with a tiny spool so its not all that fast). The real benefit to me is saving time reeling my lure in to make another cast. I mostly use the higher ratios for bottom contact lures where Im castin...

Re: Snaps

I just started using snaps on my moving bait setup. Not to save line but out of laziness basically. That said, I do notice Im going through less line (using an Aldebaran bfs)

are the ultima rods for the most part two piece rods once you get over 7' ish ? is it the detachable handle deal if so, for those who own some of the models
Yes to both questions. The rods 7' and over are two pieces with a detachable handle.

Re: OTY 2019

I have to think a little more about this but one stand out product from 2019 for me is the ct spool. Ive heard mixed reviews of it but my alphas sv has wowed me as a sort of general finesse (but above bait finesse) reel.

Re: Hard Swim or Glide Baits

Im not super big into swimbaits/glidebaits but one of my fishing buddies is, so im not the expert but this is my experience in asking him questions. I would start with the s-waver, they are proven fish catchers and you can throw them on like a frog rod or heavy jig rod.

Re: Ned Rig CASTING only

I use 1/15 oz heads and throw the ned on a Steez Racing Design 631mlfb, its rated medium light but its more a light. reel is an Aldebaran bfs spooled with 6# fluoro

I think a conquest 300 would be perfect. Might be worth trying a ryoga too

Is it just me or does the 100 sized conquest look bigger than a regular 100 sized conquest?

Re: What are you Skipping with?

I primarily skip with Texas rigs and jigs. I do it currently with a glx 853c and alphas sv 105. Honestly I would prefer a shorter rod and eventually plan on getting a medium heavy rod in the 6'3"-6'6" range for skipping and close range casting/pitching

My favorite line of rods. I have a few of the different models--the Ultimas are incredible rods.

The 66M Versatile is the best medium rod I've ever used.
I badly want the 66m versatile. What are you using it for and what reel have you got it paired with?

The triangle grip looks sort of weird but im sure its going to be a great rod. That 1611ml+ looks really interesting
