If you mean the cup washer on top of the star, the washer from a Tatula Type R or from an SV 105 has to be used. The one from an OG Steez or OG zillion is smaller diameter and the star will bind when you try to back off the drag pressure.

Yeah that's what I was asking about. Thanks.

TD-Z swept handle and spool options

Hi, I am putting a tatula 90mm swept handle and tatula type r zaion swept drag star on a td-z and was wondering if the tatula handle collar will work or will I not get enough drag star rotation? First time changing from a straight handle to a swept Also I have a 1000sv spool, steez 103 r+ spool, and...

Re: Tatula/cronos mlrb

Which heartland did you get? I was looking through my texts but I don't see it. I have some of the point blank custom rods and a black and red rod next to your alphas air. I need to get past my buy and try days as soon as possible. I'd like to narrow it down to a nice collection like yours and be do...

Re: Tatula/cronos mlrb

I had and regretfully sold the Cronos 701mlrb rod. It was great for small to mid-size cranks. I've been considering re-purchasing it myself.....but I would have to buy a reel, too. Heart-breaking, right? That is always the problem isn't it. That's how I end up with so much stuff. I keep saying I'm ...

Re: Tatula/cronos mlrb

The handle lengths are the same ( cronos and tael691mlrb are split grip, tat701mlrb and the elite version are full grip) line and lure ratings are all the same, blank material for the cronos is hvf vs svf for the 3 tatulas. Without any hands on experience I'm going to guess there can't be a whole lo...

Re: Alphas sv105

Wow, that color is something else. Price is Right though. I do throw some 1/2oz-5/8oz lures sometimes so I might want something a little heavier. The medium is only rated to 3/8 as well. Price is good though

Re: Alphas sv105

I use 10# mono on my sv105p for shallow crankbaits and it casts really great with 1/4 oz. The rod it's on is med lt moderate and rated 1/8-3/8. It loads down deep with 3/8 tied on and really launches baits. My spool has the Ray's Studio inductor added to it. My rotor was sticking and the Ray's repa...

Re: Alphas sv105

Yeah, it's a wild reel, no bones about it, especially with fluorocarbon. I think it really needs to be used with braid for pitching or casting baits over a quarter of an ounce. It's freakin' awesome for that stuff, though. Would mono be better than fluorocarbon too? I don't ever use braid. As long ...

Re: Alphas sv105

I use berkley trilene xl smooth casting Monofilament with no problems in my sv105 reels. I'm going to try the 11lb sunline defier shooter I have first otherwise I'll definitely give this a try. I also had a member text me and offer to take a look at the reel if I don't get it figured out so that's ...

Re: Alphas sv105

Did you determine if your inductor is sticking? If so, I'd get that sorted out before doing anything else. Took the spool out and the inductor was not stuck. The 10lb seguar red label sure was jumping off the spool though so maybe that's part of it. The spool tension was way too tight as well. I di...

Tatula/cronos mlrb

1) I currently have a tael691mlrb Seth feider jerkbait rod but found another rod I like better for jerkbait. I am looking to throw 3/8-1/2 oz shallow cranks and square bills and I found an d video of Randy Howell in 2014 using the tatula tat701mlrb and a rapala dt6 to catch some big fish. Should the...
