Re: Mag Bass MBR783-2C (GLX) 2 piece
I have the 2 piece, but not the one piece. I've fished the 1 piece in IMX before, but it's been years ago. If I remember, the one piece IMX has a smoother curve/bend. Sensitivity, I don't feel that it's lost any versus my other GLXs from the past. Here's a pic for you to judge for yourself. Tried to...

Re: Help me choose a reel for swimbaits!
I started with a TE401. Great reel, super torquey :?: , and one of the smoooooothest reels that I've owned. It was a little too big for my tastes so I got rid of it. From there, I went to the Toro 51 in 6.4 ratio. A little wide for my tastes. Great caster and enough torque, especially with the power...

Re: Casting dropshot setup.
DX 701C with Pixilla. It's not the best for dropshotting 3/8 oz weights and up, but definitely great for 1/4 oz on down. Rod loads those boomerang setups quite well.

Loomis 893 NRX v. GLX
Guys that have owned/used both, compare please.
Tip speed.
Backbone speed.
Which one is the faster rod? How much slower is the other? I've used the GLX version. Curious about the NRX.

Re: Need some Shimano Metanium DC and DC7 feedback
I was looking into getting a Scorpion DC...but after some research I dont think it makes the zzzzzing noise....whats the point? I want a DC reel just to hear that sound over and over again. If you want the zzzzziiiiiiiining sound, Metanium IS the ONE. My Metanium DC7 sings so loud that I get ...

Ace-2 Grease and Shimano Drag Grease, Different???
As the title states, is there a difference in Shimano's Ace-2 Grease (Japan???) and the Shimano Drag Grease?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Sunline Super Fluorocarbon
I've tried it. Not my cup of tea. I didn't like the 'mushy/soft' feel it had for a fluoro line. I used the 14#. Casts great though. I'm a course type fluoro user, if that makes any sense.

Re: Need advice between loomis crankin rods
I've been using the 855 GLX since it came out. Been a couple of years now. Knock on wood, no broken tip. I'm very happy with it. Vibration transmission, the best that I've handled to date. The GLX is weak for it's lure rating. I feel it's best throwing no heavier than 5/8 oz plugs, but then, I'm not...

Re: Hollow braid
I had the 40# JB before. Didn't like it much as far as casting. I felt it caught too much wind on the cast being that it's hollow (maybe???). Gave it up and went back to solids. Strength wise, I think it's much stronger than the solid and thinner for the poundage vs (PP, Suffix, Samarai). Just specu...

Re: Most sensitive line for a jig? Mono, fluoro, braid?
Sensitivity on the fall, I'll go with fluoro. Dragging the bottom, I say braid is way more sensitive, but I won't use it. Abrasion of braid is a no go in structure, especially rip rap. Gets cut like butter.

Re: Dawia Rod Return ?'s
I've sent rods back to them before. Call them and verify your delivery confirmation/address with them. Then they'll give you an estimated ship out date. For me in the past with them, it's been about a week from the point they receive the rod to the point that they'll ship out the new one. Overall tu...

Re: Abu winch handle compatible with?
Right on! I'll probably use colored Avail Abu nut/plate/screw to give it some funky mix & match colors as well as a black paint job on the handle. There's gotta be some cork nobs out there. Lately I've been thinking more about customizing reels than fishing. Quite addictive. If you want a black han...
