Re: Speaking of Pixies

Go all out and source the parts you need while you can. Years from now they will likely more $ and harder to source. Perhaps this one of mine can be of inspiration. Yellow pearl Pixy 6:8 gears Carbontex multi disk stack - a must BFS bearings Black Alphas Swept drag star Black smooth I shaped knobs ...

What Copoly line do you use? I love YoZuri, but am having a little trouble finding 4# lately.

Re: Which BFS reel?

If I might recommend a small plastic swimbaits ... try the Bobby Garland Slab Hunter, it’s intended as a crappie lure. It’s almost identical to the “swim tail” a lure poured by a local bait shop in Wichita, 40 years ago. The new Slab Hunter is even better, almost identical in size and shape, but mad...

Which BFS reel?

I’ve got a few reels on hand, and am considering one of the Daiwa SV Light reels from TW. Curious about which of these will make the best BFS reel? I’d like to be able to cast 1/16 + plastic jigs, and 1/8 +. I realize the best reel for 1/16 may not be the best for controlling a 1/8, maybe but maybe ...

Re: accessories for stripping/spooling line

My cheap and easy method of stripping line. I cut a plastic hangar, cut off the long straight piece. Chuck it in my cordless drill, tape the line to the chunk of hangar and go. Strips line fast and easy. As you use it, you build up more line and it strips faster. When you're done with it, chuck the ...

3 inch worm on a 1/16 shaky head jig, I fish it on a St. Croix Legend panfish 7ft light extra fast with a Daiwa Exist with Sufix 4lb Nano Braid and 4 lb Ultragreen leader, might cause an uproar but it will humble the "NED RIG".

What 3” worm is that?

Re: px68 clicking drag

Hello, first post here on TT :big grin: I've recently acquired a Daiwa PX68. I want to add the clicking drag star like the one that the Type-R has, problem is that I live in Europe and getting the pieces from the U.S. is a big hassle. Do you know any other reel that uses those same components so i ...

Phenix Maxim. Best budget blanks I've come across. The new generation won't blind you, or make you puke.
These are very nice rods

I use Copoly for almost everything. Yozuri is my go to, but getting hard to find in 4# so I'm experimenting there.

Take a look at the Phenix glass cranking rods, they make them in both red and blue.
Will do. I've been wanting one of their rods.
I’m planning to get one for tossing big swimbaits to stripers.

I’ve got one of their Maxim rods, it’s a VERY nice rod.

Re: What piece of cheap or tackle gear do you use and love?

Picked this up about 2 weeks ago for $41 and have been really enjoying the action of the blank. It's like this thing was made for throwing small to medium sized cranks. I threw some U-40 on the cork and away we went. Looking for a light cranking reel and this will be one sweet setup! I’ve got sever...
