Re: Value bfs rod
Would it still be considered BFS style/culture if I just make a custom rod from the best materials I can with a light trout/bass rod..??? Or do I have to specifically buy a rod from Japan in order to be inside the "BFS culture/circle/club"...??? Was thinking of just buying a 6'6-7'0 ultralight-mediu...

Re: Jigs VS Texas Rig...???
Thanks for the tips and suggestions.
I LOVE to flip/pitch Tulles. Just need to fish more so I can see for myself which is the better one for the cover/structure at the time for the conditions.

Jigs VS Texas Rig...???
I fish the same lakes and ponds all year round and sometimes will try and fish a new lake/pond. I LOVE fishing shallow water and I am definitely a Flippin and Pitchin kind of guy. Because I flip and pitch so much...I ALWAYS bring a jig and texas rig combo. I always get bit on the same structure/cove...

G Loomis Specs and new E6X rods...???
Not familiar with G Loomis at all. Hope there is a G. Loomis expert in here. 1. Whats the difference between a MBR (Mag Bass Rod) and a JWR (Jig Worm Rod)..? I know one is tailored for jigs/worms but what did G. Loomis intend that you would fish with the Mag Bass Rod...? 2. E6X 884C SWB (7'4" Heavy ...

Re: Reel for Swimbaits targeting Stripers and LMB...???
You didn't mention what lb. test braid you are going with but still, the Lexa 300 might fit your needs. I will be using 55lb Daiwa Samurai Braid for freshwater and 70lb Daiwa Samurai braid for saltwater. I am already planning to get a lexa 300 for a MH setup. I don't want to get another Lexa 300 if...

Re: Reel for Swimbaits targeting Stripers and LMB...???
Though not as light as the exo you have the curado 300e as well. Haha :big grin: ...I forgot to mention that I am a DAIWA fanboy (hence the username) 8-) . Even though I am a Daiwa fanboy...I have owned a couple shimanos before. They are great reels no doubt. I just really like having my brakes on ...

The G Loomis rods look great too. Will definitely have to check out the IMX versions also.

Re: Reel for Swimbaits targeting Stripers and LMB...???
Daiwa Z is too EXPENSIVE for me. I also believe it doesn't have enough line capacity for the baits and fish I am going after. I appreciate the insight though. Quantum EXO 300 sounds like a great choice. Just looked at the specs and it sounds like a great reel. Will definitely have to try and check o...

Cutbait rod...???
I do a lot of cutbait fishing for stripers. I believe the rod I am using right now doesn't have the right action/power for striper cutbait fishing. I use baitcasting while a lot of my friends and other people I see at the lake use Spinning gear. I don't like using spinning gear. Anyone have a castin...

Reel for Swimbaits targeting Stripers and LMB...???
I am having a hard time trying to decide which reel to get for swimbaits. I am planning on making this setup as my ALL PURPOSE TREBLE HOOK COMBO . I am planning on pairing the reel with a 8’0” Phenix M1 Heavy Swimbait rod. Mainly targeting Stripers in Reservoirs fishing from a boat sometimes but mos...
