Bearing packer?
I was just wondering if anyone has used a device to force grease into a bearing, I think they're known as bearing packers? I'm cleaning a 9 year old Daiwa Tierra right now and I just gave all the bearings an acetone bath in the Ultrasonic. The bearings were originally packed with grease and I'd like...

Replacement hooks for Husky Jerkey
Hey friends,
I've been jerking and reelin' a number 12 Jerkey Husk by Rapala lately. The stock hooks are losing me a lot of fish anyone have any suggestions on replacements that won't tangle?

Re: Need help after servicing a lews casting reel
Thanks for the replies. I called lews today and was told to take some gel super glue and put a small amount on the outside of the bearing to hold it in place in the side plate.

Casting plugs.
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get a 1/2 oz. Casting plug made of rubber? I used to have one but lost it on a break off while testing a reel. I've already snooped on Amazon and Google but can only find 3/8 which always seem way too light. Thanks if anyone can point me to a link or in th...

Need help after servicing a lews casting reel
A while back I did a complete tear down and servicing of a lews lsf reel. Once cleaned, lubed, and assembled I noticed that the handle has more slop in it. I checked the schematic and everything is in its proper place. I removed the anti reverse bearing while cleaning and it took a lot of force with...

Re: Newest Model Shimano Stradic Ci4+ Spinning Reel
I was looking at picking one of these up or maybe a sustain. They are about the same price.

Re: Which would you pick
Exactly. Bantam and E series were the best ever.LgMouthGambler wrote:Nothing prettier than the paint on a CU50E. The new reels from Shimano are nice, but they don't hold a candle to the E series IMO. They are right there in Shimano history with the B series reels.

Inox
I have heard from two different sources of people using this spray to clean the exterior of their reels, just wondering if anyone on the board has tried it?

Need to find one way roller bearing Calcutta dc
I'm servicing a 250dc Calcutta for a friend and it needs a new anti-reverse bearing. Also called one way roller bearing or one way clutch bearing. Here is a link to the schematic on shimanos web page, but am I blind or what! I don't see one listed there

Looking for a new daiwa spinning reel
I've been looking for a week at daiwas spinning reel lineup in anticipation of purchasing a new reel. I've been trying to decide between the ballistic and procyon in a 3000 size. Any comments on the differences between the two or real world experience would be appreciated. One other question I have ...

Freshwater use of large spinning reels
I'm just wondering if anyone here has ever tried using a 4000 sized shimano reel or its equivalent in another brand for freshwater fishing, namely bass, walleye, or northern. I've run into a situation where I would like to use a larger diameter mono for casting cranks that require a painfully slow r...

Tight drag ends smooth retrieve
I fished with an oldie but goodie today, CU200, old bantam Greenie. After catching and also losing a few fish, I tightened the drag very tight. Before I tightened the drag the retrieve was smooth as any reel I've ever fished(just put in New gears). When I cranked the drag star down as much as possib...
