Re: Daiwa Zillion Rods Discontinued?!?
I'm just not sold yet on the durability of the AGS guides on Tatula rods from hard use. Plus Zillion rods are lifetime warranty vs Tatulas which are not. If the Zillion rods are discontinued, that would leave a big gap below the Steez rods, no? Will just get the new Orochi XX when released, loved t...

7'6 steez ags remarkably versatile. For big water or albies and long range work Tailwalk Hitide tz 9'0 Still love to death the cork crucial drop shot 6'8 great rod...better than rods at the same price made today 10 years later. I would really like to try the Hitide for throwing the flash minnow 110...

Re: Line Diameter true to spec?
When I received 5lb fins 40g (my favorite all around fw braid probably ever) I was shocked that it's claim of .004 wasn't close..and came in at .009 I emailed fins..and they use a paint gauge to measure diameters....so I guess whatever they can squeeze in the slot counts lol I found J braid, suffix ...

Re: Stella FJ or Exist 18
I have a few FI's...and I'm trying to rationalize if there is anything in the FJ that makes it worth while Now the exist.....is a baby magnesium certate HD or Saltiga bay jigger. Now that is Cool.... I'd like to compare the stella FJ side by side to the exsence. (can only do that with the FI) And I ...

Or I got fat reels. :-s Sterling Tatula LT - .425lbs = 6.8oz Tatula LT - .410lbs = 6.56oz http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff385/David_Finnigan/tatula%20weight.jpg http://i1233.photobucket.com/albums/ff385/David_Finnigan/sterling%20weight.jpg I asked for an e cat...

Re: Saltstrong abrasion test
I watched it. I don't really spool up with the stretchy stuff and generally just use it as leader I tried a bunch of monos and always looked at fluoro as a waste of money. I still do for many applications. But After being disappointed in a slew of insert mono fluro model here............... I tried ...

Re: Best UL BC for trouts in small streams
I've been enjoying the 16 aldebaran bfs in between thaws for the past 2 months. Mainly thowing 1/16 ounce minnow baits. Very fun. The clicky drag is amazing for letting me know what is going on during the fight which often isn't translated well on ultra light ultra smooth baitcasters. Which was alwa...

Re: Sustain FI Question
The sustains i've felt for whatever reason weren't as buttery smooth like a nasci or stradic. No clue why. But 3 for 3 weren't like some others. I took apart a brand new 5k the other day and noticed some black residue where the gear touches the pinion. And compared it to a ci4+ that was well worn......

Re: Shimano's Fully Machined BFS Masterpiece
I'm surprised you didn't mention the clicky drag..... I've found it to be a spectacular feature. You can really dial in how much pressure your putting on light line by the feel. The sound isn't all that important but you can feel the detents on the drag as you wind against the drag. Which is an incr...

Re: Bantam mgl usa vs. Japan
My prediction..it's gonna fish just like every other mid to high end reel. It's going to be rock solid just like the Curado and metanium and every other alu framed reel. But it's gonna be so much cooler because it's got lots of metal and brass where little chincy plastic bits and alooominium usually...
