Re: PowerPro for First Baitcaster
Reel: Abu Revo Premier Rod: Abu Verdict, water all types stream, lakes, rivers, from clear to murky, I just picked yellow bc I think it will look cool on my combo, I was worried more about the size for castability, like where it was easier to learn to use a bait caster on heavier line. Also wanted ...

Re: Fluoro vs copolymer
[/quote] Of course one has to promote one's sponsors. But can I ask you in return, how do you know that they don't use it? And not all fluoros are created the same. I have used the cheaper ones to the more expensive ones and have to say, you get what you pay for. Other than the price of the higher e...

Re: Fireline
Dabluz... if you're fishing frozen salt water, it's COLD ! I expect the line's wax coating is frozen. oe When I'm using my 14 lb test Fireline, I'm fishing in 150 to 400 feet of water. I've been using the line for 2 years now and it still has those damned coils. I have the line on a large spinning ...

Re: Steel Leaders, Heavy line, Why not?
I have the same problem with the many pike that inhabit my waters here in Quebec. I often use steel leaders when using an expensive lure. Ideally, I like to use 6 lb monofilament. My favourite line is Sensation which is actually a copolymer line but it is clear and acts exactly like a good mono. I d...

Re: Best Fluorocarbon 14 to 16lb for fishing 1/4 to 3/4 Jigs
I use braid on all of my rods with a fluorocarbon leader. I am looking at getting a new spool of 14 to 16 lb line for throwing jigs. It sounds like Seagur Tatsu is the best line going but I would like to find a line that is comparable and of course  cheaper. I was hoping to find a line that i...

Re: school me on flouro please
Tried it on the water yesterday, didnt catch anything of course because It's still too cold. First impressions are that it cast very well. Bird nest some but it could be because I'm a lil rusty and using a new to me reel. Caught some weeds and felt it stretch like mono. Leads me to 2 questions: 1. ...

Re: The Search fpr the Best Ultra-Lite Spinning Reel
I love ultralite fishing. I live in a region where brook trout are in just about every lake pond and ditch...lol. The average size is about 12 inches but I know places where the average is 15 inches and 22 inch brook trout are not rare. For close to 20 years, I've been using an Abu Garcia Ultralite ...

Re: Fireline
I have some 14 lb test Fireline on a spinning reel for deep saltwater icefishing. Even with a 2 ounce weight in 300 feet of water, the lines keeps it's coils. Since I'm a cheap guy, I still use it but don't like it due to the memory. I have to say that I am catching fish with the 14 lb test Fireline...

Re: Fluoro vs copolymer
I use light line and most of my fishing is for brook trout and walleye. I like 3 lb test Tectan Premium and 4 lb test Berkley Sensation whitch I found out recently, is a copolymer line. I did try Vanish 6 lb test but it took me about 5 minutes to really hate it enough to never use fluorocarbon again...

Re: Record vs Cardiff
I have the Cardiff 101A and like it very much. It's the gold coloured one. I bought it for 60 dollars new at the store. It was on sale.......probably because it has the handle on the left side. I use 18 lb test Mason Tiger braid on this reel and it casts great.....without noise. It casts so good tha...
