For that BFS rod, what size line will you be using? Anything larger than 8lb fluoro, ~0.24mm dia, I'd opt for the 30. Ald BFS holds about 50m of 8lb sniper/shooter. The little silver screw just spins on this one. My gold 100HG is dry and tight for this mechanism, the new one is tight but so greasy. Almost like grease wasn't supposed to go there. Just spins, won't adjust

I ran 12lb Daiwa J Fluoro Hidden. Got about 65 yards or so, maybe a bit more. I know after backlashing I only had like 20 yards. My guess would be that because you are testing it, the reel's drag range is more on the lower end rather than closer to the max.
