G-Blanks service...

I just want to say that the service over at G-Blanks custom rods is top notch. Yesterday I received two(built exactly the way I asked) custom rods from Larry. One of the rods was damaged. I emailed Larry last night and just a few short hours later spoke to him on the phone and George is in the proce...

As Johnny A said. Your going to have to find someone to purchase and then ship the rod from Japan.
Good luck. 8-)

Re: Question for people with top end stuff (steez/MB/GC/etc)

I find that all my reel and rod scars come when they are not being fished. Whether it be throwing your rod down after landing a fish, getting boat rash during a run that you didn't bother to throw your reel covers on, or shutting your rod in the car door; all have nothing to do with fishing 100%. I...

Re: No longer under the morgage. Now what?

A small getaway cabin on a lake would be cool...ESPECIALLY where you live...I love it there. My Insurance and taxes in escrow = 400+ a month :x Which is why I'll never own a cabin on the lake. Property taxes here have skyrocketed. My house 5 yrs ago was appraised @ $82,000. This year it appraised @...

Your best bet is to ask the boys over at Mikes reel repair.

Re: No longer under the morgage. Now what?

Another couple of months and I'm freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... 8-) Not exactly...I sunk a boatload of cash into our new house and only borrowed $45K on a veteran's 15 year loan program (because I got it at 4.05% simple) and the escrow payment for taxes and insurance *exceeds* my monthly principal + int...

Mhood wrote: I don't think anyone is going to snap cast a 3oz. b8 (unless they have Popeye wrists). If you follow that logic through, you could just use a real broom stick and lob the baits out. Or better yet, use an 8 ft piece of 2X4, 80 lb braid, and forget the necessity of a rod at all. Or you c...

Re: Wellcraft Fisherman 180

Gadget.
I don't about the Wellcraft boats, but my buddy just bought a 10yr old Starcraft fishmaster 190 for $10,500. Awesome big water boat. Handles anything the biggest lake can dish out.
I don't know what price range your looking at, but Starcraft seems to build a sweet boat.

Re: centrifugal vs magnetic

They both work just fine and with a little use, either will provide excellent performance. To a gr8 extent, it's the Indian and not the arrow... ;) Exactly Marc. If a person is relying on the brake system alone they're not "educating" their thumb and they're never going to learn that what ever brak...

Re: ah knots, Help me please

I'm with the others.
I use Power Pro on all my pike rods and have never lost a fish due to the knot coming undone.
I use the palomar, but I also carry a lighter in my box to melt the cut frayed end on the tag line.
