Re: Poison Ultima Feedback

So Ive had the 72H since it came out and have recently added the 70M. In my opinion, these are THE rod right now; performance and looks. Love my Evergreens, MB's, and other Jackall's but the Ultima sits at the top undisputed. Only issue is the line-up needs more variety in lengths/powers. haha! tha...

Poison Ultima Feedback

I know there was a thread on the Posion Ultima some time back. Just wondering if any guys out here also hopped onto the Ultima bandwagon? I would like further feedback on your thoughts on the rods. I am going to get that 166M ultima as soon as I possibly can... its been a while since i posted anythi...

I'm wondering when will Cal review them? =p

Re: The Search for One : Shimano/Jackall's Biwako Versatile

not awkward at all. if you ever have to take public transport in the city, you would definitely appreciate the shorter length when the handle is disassembled. that said, my rushburn came with some elastic band that has one half of the velcro thing, so you can secure the blank and handle together if ...

Re: Reel for Evergreen Kaleido Husky Winder

I am surprised nobody mentioned the exsence DC. It's super high speed - you might think I'm crazy. It's really effective and very easy for me, esp for deep divers. A couple of cranks and your lure is down to desired depth. After that, it's just alternating the retrieve speeds & packing some pauses i...

Re: braided line for finesse spool?

Actually I agree with Karkayan. Older gen braid: PP is only 4 fibres braid - squarish & once coating wears off... PP depth hunter is better with 6 braids & changing colors. I find it a lil thick. New gen real braid: PP SS8 is better @ lighter stuff (than above 2 lines). I started using this line aft...

Shimano Jackall Poison Glorious 172H Rushburn: Would you choose the Rushburn over the Biwako Versalite for the fishing I do? Shimano Jackall Poison Glorious 173MH Biwako Versatile: can braid be used on this rod? On the website only mono is mentioned (and for the Rushburn braid IS mentioned). Would ...

Re: 1 JDM rod for frogs, jerks, cranks, swimbaits?

Hi Bart, It's not a 2 piece rod, but rather a rod that is butt joint. You can check out this link http://forums.tackletour.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=58117 which another fellow member had been so kind to post. I have the poison glorious series 172H Rushburn, one notch below the Ultima. Generally, the ...

Re: 1 JDM rod for frogs, jerks, cranks, swimbaits?

Hi Bart, I used to think along the same lines as you. I was after monster peacock bass and giant snakeheads and a versatile medium powered rod generally suffice for most of my needs. Then I came across this forum and started experimenting... If you are using only one rod, then you might need to cons...

Re: Bfs, Centrifugal or Mag ?

Having fished the Aldebaran BFS and Revo LTZ extensively(but not side by side) I can say the LTZ outcasts the BFS but not by much, we are talking a couple of feet. The lowest Ive thrown with them is a 1/16th bitsy minnow which both handled great with the Volkey UL rod. The LTZ is more finicky thoug...

Re: Poison Ultima!

Thanks! I guess I will be saving up for an Ultima instead. You said you wouldn't crank with it, but would you throw 1 oz rattle traps and jerkbaits on it? just curious since I occasionally fish a canal system that holds striped bass and those are my primary lures. It's not a big deal though, worst ...

Re: Poison Ultima!

wow. the rod looks really awesome.

can I check with you if the rod is butt joint like the PG Rushburn? Also, is the weight of the rod really ~4oz?

I am thinking of getting the 170M ultima man.

Re: your experiences pitching with shimano exsence DC?

I didn't try pitching the shimano exsence DC side by side with my Met'13 since they are now permanently mounted on their own rods. But I do suspect what you say to be true. Pitching for me on the DC means easing the brake all the way to minimum, and tighten the ccc only to the extent of no wobble. D...

I'm thinking of ordering one from my local tackle store when I go on home leave. (I will be able to enjoy the shimano warranty then)
