Spool the suckered with some light line and go at it.

The reel does prefer a smoother casting motion. I had 2, only have 1 now but, I never had a problem with casting. Try oiling the bearings and spool shaft. Also, take the side plate off and use something magnetic by the magnets for see if your brakes are moving freely.

looks like the zillion hd/1516 series. blah Could be a TW in a Zillion/SV103 frame? Looks to be a tad bigger though. Looks like it has the bumpers that Zillions are known for plus the holes up top. It's a solid 30 dollar reel. It fishes above its price point. Those Berkley Dough rods seem fun to use.

From what I read, the Kuying Teton looks good for the money. I have never used it though. I know some others with experience can chime in. You may want something shorter. I have the 16 Aldebaran BFS that uses the same brake system and spool. It's a really nice casting system. If you feel like you need to cast even lighter (most likely not), the KTF spool is a nice upgrade. I can cast a noticeable amount better when it comes to the really light stuff.

I'd go Steez SV TW. The reel was made for the 852c. Perfect for the lighter plastics
