Re: Better than the average travel rod?
Seriously have to buy the travel bag separately for another 80 bucks!? That's a freaking joke 😕 the rods themselves come in a nice soft "plaid" bag. the travel bag is pricey, though you can stick a couple rods and reels and a small tackle box in there. I often bring one reel, with two spools, a BFS...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers
SD is listed as medium fast and it feels like the "typical" medium fast that I'm familiar with from other MB rods. I think that the DS is more sensitive than the SD, largely a function of the fast(er) taper rod. jmb27, have you fished either the Daemos or FMJ? It sounds like their both being Fast v...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers
FMJ vs SuperDestroyer I currently fish the FMJ for all of my jig work, how does the SD compare? I am crazy about JIGS, I always have one tied on and it is my favorite way to fish. Would the SD replace my FMJ? would it complement it? I use a Daemos for my Texas Rigs and sometime with 1/4ozjigs. I fis...

Re: Best action for a jig rod
I like the Megabass FMJ... I've had a couple of dozen jig rods over the years. I've found what I was looking for the first time I fished the FMJ. DESCRIPTION The Destroyer® FMJ harnesses the full potential of our proprietary Hybrid Graphite System and multi-axis construction, delivering a unique ble...

Re: Baitcasting Reel: Single knob handle instead of double?
http://i66.tinypic.com/2h54tbb.jpg excuse the mismatched colors/nut, I was playing with it to see how I liked it before I color coordinate and match everything up. I've been playing with some of those same "aliexpress" handles with a dremel, you have a single handle in a flash. the only negative I ...

Re: BFS rods: JDM v CDM
I started with a Kuying Teton 662L (which I think was the gateway for a lot of the CDM BFS users). It has been a fun rod, great for small cranks and moving baits. I was a little disappointed in how it handled jigs. This led me to look for more of a BASS style BFS as you mentioned. I also followed Br...

do you have a link or anything on how to just get a tip?sofinesse wrote: Oh I believe they also sell replacement tip sections should you ever break one which is great because I don’t thing they have tips or guides on the market currently that are small enough for the upper third of the tip section.

Re: lines for bfs setups
is that the Teton 552SUL? Is it a bass or trout taper? I have the Teton 662L and it is a mod-fast taper.

Re: Spinning rod with baitcasting reel?
I was actually today just thinking about building a rod that can serve both spinning and baitcasting purposes. Won't be for a while but that is possible. I may look somewhat odd but it will be functional.....:) Daiwa makes the Ardito-TR Travel Casting/Spinning rod... https://img.tacklewarehouse.com...

Re: Tsurinoya Proflex 2 Impression
been trying out a DIY spool in the Tat 100 with the Proflex 2. I have caught literally 50+ bass with this Proflex 2, ranging from 1# -4#+, the majority 2.5# *the big girls haven't showed up as of yet). I even had mr.whiskers grab my keitech spider with about 3' of line from the rod tip and run hard,...

Re: Tsurinoya Proflex 2 Impression
This bass was one of the smaller ones at about 1.8#, the lipless is 4.5g ( anything smaller and the bass would just ignore it, this matches the smallest of the tilapia fry in the lake) With 1.5PE/15# J-braid grand the Proflex 632UL/PX68R is a tough combo to beat for “FUN”. https://lh3.googleusercont...

Re: Tsurinoya Proflex 2 Impression
Not sure about the Volkey BFS, haven’t seen one. The Kuying Teton is a TTC-662L. The Tsurinoya Proflex II is a C632UL. Both cast 2g-5g lures very well. I’ve been using a 4.5g lipless (scale weight)from basspro for the bass at my pond. The Teton is more of a mod-fast and is a bit heavier action than ...
