What are the baits you guys have been using for the Crig? I was thinking about trying a Senko as I usually use a lizard or sweet beaver.

Trick worms can be deadly on a C-rig. Also, brush hogs and the floating jerk style shads made by Strike King, I believe they're called the Zulu. Don't forget a 5" Kalins grub.

If I'm in water with pike, I'll drag the 6" Salt Shaker shad on a big momma hook.

Brush Hogs and lizards seem to do well here in So-Cal. I have used floating worms and Senkos and caught fish on them as well. Flukes can be deadly at the right time of year too.

I like to throw creature baits early, moving up to straight tail worms or flukes later in the day.

I throw the Kicker Fish Bait Weedless Wacky Worm and have lots of success with it. I just started to try the Manns Hardnose Mosquito Hawk. I have see a lot of articles and postings saying this is a great C-Rig bait.

Try these little craws they are killer for smallies, I've had a few LM's take them too.

I get them from; http://www.conquistadortackle.com

edit: I like them in the spring in this size

Is a floating style lure more effective than one that doesn't for Carolina Rigging? I've never caught anything C-Rigged before. I'd like to try it more often if I can have success with it.

I've seen a few days where a floater was the real deal, my partner was barely even moving the bait. The fish would just run with it.

For the mostpart though, I have had had more with sinkers. The brushog is a good selection.

I like to start with a Brush Hog, if that doesnt work I like a ribbon tail worm, then I will use a Senko.

A lot of reservoirs around here have spots, LM and smallies all living in/around the same areas, so I like to use a bait that will appeal to all three if I'm in that kind of area.

French fries, 6" straight-tailed worms, and Baby Brush Hawgs for that gig.

If I'm just going for largemouth, I like ribbontails like a Zoom Mag II, or even a bulky hula grub.

Stick baits have been my c-rig confidence bait for a couple years now, wave worms tiki stick in paticular ( less salt slower descent) has been the most effective. Another lure I've been using with lately with a great degree of sucess is the berkley powerbait beast. They imitate both bait fish and craws exceptionally well, I'd also venture to say that not to many bass have seen em used in such an application

Definitely try the senko!! Its my number 1 c-rig bait. The fish really hold on to them well.

I like using a Hag's Tornado F5 for Carolina rigging.
I am still new to that technique but have had some success with it.
