Perfect Spot

Post by 11kalnmitc » Fri Oct 18, 2013 8:03 am

So if you're out fishing lets say a river and you get on a specific stretch that looks absolutely perfect. You haven't gotten any real signs of a pattern the fish are on that day, but with the combination of current and current breaks this stretch has the makings of a great spot. However after an hour or so with no bites and no clue where else or what else to do, what would you do? I ran into this situation the other day and im curious as to what all of you would do?

Okay:

- Are you marking bass or the fish you are after?

- What depth are they at and what is the forage?

- What techs and patterns prevailed before?

fishing from the bank, first time on the river, and only two small bites from smallies right on the shore at least an hour before on a spinnerbait. I tried a spinnerbait, tube, jerkbait, swimbait, and buzzbait with no looks whatsoever.

I'd go somewhere else, you've thrown the kitchen sink at them and you're still not catching anything, then this spot, for whatever reason, is not for you. Could be a seasonal thing also, might be a great spot in the spring but not in the fall.

One thing about perfect looking spots is that they often get a lot of pressure.

](*,) so simple lol, that probably has something to do with it, especially since that area is very accessible....
