Welp... I done did it!

Some of you already know that I have been keeping a little secret for several months now... :quiet:

My pending resignation from my 'puter job was submitted in mid-January, effective January 31, 2007. After 25 years in the industry, the last 15 with the same employer... I QUIT! I'm done with suits, ties, keyboards, and padded walls! :beat up:

What to do now? Well, I 've often said I was gonna move to the beach and open a surf shop. I searched around and discovered that some of the hottest "beaches" in southeast Nebraska were in Havelock! :mrgreen: I didn't think a surf shop would be such a great idea, but there was a small business for sale on Havelock Ave... :thinking:

Short story: Offered, Accepted, and Closed on February 1... I'm now the proud new owner of Wolf Tackle Supply ! \:D/

Glad to hear it Gadget. I was in Lincoln last weekend for the first time in four months. I drove down Havelock Ave. in the middle of the afternoon to find the store closed. I was heartbroken. Now I guess I have to plan another trip. :cry: :cry: :cry:

Bandit - Roger had been keeping "banker's hours" all winter. This weekend was also the Nebraska Walleye Association Show out at the Lancaster Event Center (84th and Havelock Ave... just a mile east of the shop).

MzG set up a couple tables out there Friday and was out there all day by herself, so I went with the plan and locked up at 2pm as Roger had been doing all winter and went out to the Event Center to help her.

I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening and all day Sunday shaking hands and kissing babies... felt like I was running for office! But I feel that I got alot of good exposure.

I'm sorry I missed you... and wish you could have made it out to the Walleye Association Show and said "Hi!".

Not much consolation I'm sure, but I posted new store hours today: 9am-7pm M-F and 9-5 on Saturday. Gadget
