How to ship a rod.

Post by wiper » Fri Sep 21, 2007 1:44 pm

I just received a rod from Skeeterboy77 today and I must say that I was impressed with the care that he took to make sure that it arrived in one piece!!! PVC tube, rod wrapped in foam insulation. I dont think USPS could have broken it even if they had wanted to! Good deal Skeeterboy.

haha I wonder? Learn from other peoples mistakes. 8-) I want people to be satisfied with what they pay for to get and if it means going the extra to do it so be it. 8-) Glad you got the rod in one piece and hope you enjoy it.

Yep, nothing sucks worse than waiting for a $200+ rod for a week, then opening it up like a kid at Christmas, only to find out its broken!!

good deal  ...the care in how a seller ships a rod says a lot about the seller, in my eyes.

having said that, usps can break anything.

they may not be quite as creative in their approach to breaking things as ups but, they are every bit as capable. ](*,)

If only the place where I bought my last rod had done this. I had it delivered on Tuesday and unpacked it just to find a broken tip

Sounds like how Kistler sends theirs. My UPS guy asked what in the world it was. I told him my new rod. He said he has never seen such a well packaged rod before.

pvc+foam is the only way to go! you can subst a hard cardboard tube if its one of those super thick ones i suppose

Got a Dobyns683c from Frogpond11 today. Tube stuffed with newspaper around rod. That works well also. Thanks Frogpond :)
