Daleo,

You asked about what set ups and what applications thay are for.

I only use Shimano reels. I have upgraded and replaced all my reels in the last 5 months, and a lot of my rods.

St Croix
LT TB66MHF w/CU200DHS frogs, rats, large spinner baits
LT TB66MF w/CH100B Spinnerbaits
Avid AC66MM w/CH100BPV Crankbaits
Avid AC70MHM w/CU200B5 Swim Baits and large Cranks
Avid AC66MF w/CH100B Jerkbaits, Top water
Avid AC70MHF w/CU200BSF Carolina Rigs

Shimano Crucials
CRC-D70M w/CH100B Drop shot
CRC-C66M w/CH100BPV Crank baits
CRC-76H w/CU200DHS Flipping
CRC-X66m w/CH100B Poppers, Spooks, Grubs, Sinkos
CRC-X68M w/CU200DHS Jigs and plastics

I like using the CRC-X68M most of all. It has the best overall feel of all my rods.

The Compre rods are set up with Curado's and are in the fishing room.
They are used for travel and walking the banks.
All the above equipment is in my Triton.

DR: I too really like that CRC-X68M. I use it mainly for fishing stickbaits, but it is a great all around rod. (I believe Shimano calls it a spinnerbait rod). I also really like the CRC-610M. It is another great all around rod.

Yo DR, I've been looking at crankbait rods, the crucials I've seen at Quinte Outdoor sports although they didn't have the CRC-C70MM I've been eying on line, the St. Croix Avid 7ft Med seems to come highly regarded, Just curious both of your crankbait rods are 6'6", do you find an advantage over that length vs a 7ft.

Daleo,

I use 66 to 68 for accuracy when casting. I use the longer rods for pitchin, flippin, and long range cast.
By the way. Sence the start of this post, I have added a Crucial CRC72MH crank bait rod and a St. Croix Elite EC68MXF for jigs and plastics.
The Crucial rod handles a DD22 real nice.
