F0-60X Elese, F1-60X Elite, Pagani Casting

OK guys...All this talk of Rods for Pixy has me thinking about a dedicated light reaction bait rod / pixy combo. It looks like megabass has quite a few offerings in the F0 and F1 power category.

Can Anyone compare and contrast The Megabass light powered casting rods?

this rod will be used to throw 1/4 and below (most will be 1/8 oz) weight reaction baits like the tiny rat-l-trap, pointer 65, small crappie spins, small topwaters, etc.

I like the Elese because it is rated for lighter lures. I like the Elite because...well, it looks really cool.

Well, when it comes to very light lures I definately use only spinning gear, and for that Megabass has very cool rods like the Saratoga or the Lycaon Evolution, depending on the action you need. However, if I had to choose an UL baitcasting rod, I wouldn't take neither the F0-60X nor the F1-60X...they are not so "exotic" IMO I definately would choose a F0-60Xp Graphite Pagani.

I can't compare and contrast because I only own the Elese but I use and adore my Pixy/Elese/4# Yozuri Soft combo for exactly the apps you're talking about.

This is still one of my favorite combos to fish with...of all time...and I'm a really old fart who has been fishing for a very long time.

Your posts about the Elese got me drooling about F0 / F1 MB rod in the first place. I'm leaning toward getting an Elese. Unless someone I hear something extra specail about the Pagani.

They are gorgeous rods. I have the Pagani Evoluzion F1-63Xp-Dti. They are slow to moderate action blanks, a very soft graphite and almost noodly. They are billed for topwater, but are actually a much better light cranking stick. They are dynamite for stepcats, baby griffons etc. Yuki will throw topwater on them up to 1 oz, but I think that is way to much. I would be scared to throw over 1/2.oz .

They are different blanks , and the ratings on F1-63Xp-Dti are way off. My gut is they thought because they applied the dti process it would add some balls. However, no such luck. It makes me wonder if the dti process is even applied, because you have no visible signs it was. If you look at the other F1 pagani rods they are rated down to 1/8. The graphite used on the pagani sticks is totally different than the HT10X, or HT8X for that matter. A similar multiplex graphite is used on the Trout rods. Cal can tell you about how soft they are, or I guess read his review. Not a apples to apples comparison , but it might give you some insight into the characteristics of the graphite blank used.

Long Story Short I spent $500 on a rod that will never see much action. I actually forget all the time I even have it.
