May I Join Your Clique Now?

Post by bigharry » Mon Sep 10, 2007 6:28 pm

Finally sprung for an Airy Red Pixy. Very Nice!

Now I'm looking for a split grip rod w/ bling in the below $400 range. I seldom fish greater than 5/8 oz. This is not necessarily for the Pixy. Thinking about the 6'3" Steez.

Any suggestions? :D

welcome, sir.

however, you may be a tad more welcome if you change that to "above $400.00". :big grin:

Not a clique, my friend, more like a fraternity (as far as I'm aware). Welcome!

Guys, I was being facetious about the clique thing. I've always found everyone helpful and nice here.

Unfortunately, $400.00 is the max.

Hi, I'm Ron, it's been 4 days since my last tackle puchase. :^o

Harry, I don't know how to tell you this gently, but you only THINK you have $400 to spend. You have bought a Pixy, the highest form of addictive substance know to fishermen. You have been bitten by the Monkey. You will need to apply for another credit card immediately. Peace be with you.

I put a Red Pixy on a Abu Regista, which is red, and it looks killer, and is a great rod. They have several model ratings. About $250.

P.S., Thats the funniest looking monkey I've ever seen in that avatar!

Not a problem. I was being a bit off, myself. I had the "fraternity line" and finally had a chance to use it.

You should check out a custom rod for sure. I am getting a rod built with a very good blank, set up just for me, with bling, under $400. There are some pics at the end of this post, ( not my rod ) and I'm sure there are many more if you do a search.

He builds a nice looking rod. How do I get in touch with him?

I have a found nice, used Steez that I'm leaning heavily towards. I'm kinda in the instant gratification mode at the moment.

Well, I can kill two birds with one post.

Finnor, YES, you are sick. That is why you are here. TT is sort of like a special wing at the Mayo Clinic for tackle junkies.

Harry, Harry, Harry. The answer is right in front of you. Of course you buy the Steez and use it while you are waiting for the custom rod to come in. 8-) And, just a heads up, a need for instant gratification soon turns into a need for constant gratification. Kind of like that squirrels drinking problem.

The rods in the pictures are some samples from Mattman at Otterrods.
