Loomis BCR802 equivalent

Post by USA-RET » Mon Sep 10, 2007 7:15 pm

I'm looking for a Megabass equivalent to the Loomis BCR 802 GLX.

Is there such an animal?

Hi Dennis;

I asked the same quesiton awhile back. Nothing in the MB lineup currently compares to the BCR802, the closes matches are:

Bearing Down (More powerfull than the BCR802) and 2" shorter.
Hedgehog (Probably the closest match except it is only 6ft 3in)
Hien (Old Model) (Close match also except it is 2" longer)

Since you are looking at the BCR802 i'm assuming your focus is on a light finesse stick for jigs and worms. If that's the case look at the Shaker from UFM rods, this is the rod that GH recommended to me awhile back. I did not get it because i felt it lacked bling but if you don't mind that then that probably would be a good choice.

Take care.
My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.

I wouldn't even compare the bearing down to the 802 due to the power differences. The bearing down fishes more like the 804.
