I've got one but some got two ;) Just ask Cal or read his latest work here: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewlunkerpunker.html

Anyway, I won't sell mine. I waited too long for this rod and it's fanta-stick :)

As for comments on the Balista, use the search function, I'm sure you'll find enough useful information. K. Imae used this rod along with the Amazon Flip for peacock bass fishing on Rio Negro during his 2003 trip to Brasil. Both rods are excellent for topwater big-bait style :).

If you wanna buy (like right now 8-) ) but don't want to wait, you might be in luck - check onto http://www.plat.co.jp - they just received a fresh new stock of Balista... there should be at least one available for sale.

For SA fish like the Peacocks, I'd go with a Calcutta 300TE. I use one for my heavier swimbaits like the Hudds.

During his Amazon trip, Imae used the Balista's coupled only with low-profile Abu Torno reels and 80 to 100 lbs. PE line (Spiderwire Stealth and Fireline)... Those Abu took some serious beating but they still cast great and fought well... Abu makes some great reels - too bad the Torno is available in right hand retrieve only :(

Curado 300 would be a good choice beside the Abu Torno / older Tournament Pro model. TD-Z BBS is nice, but I really don't know how well it will do against those bruisers...

Balista is quite a lightweight rod (6.2 oz.) for its power, you don't need to add a ton of reel on top of it...
