I do not know if Texas is further from Japan than Paris, but I got a rod in a record time of 3 days EMS shipping rocks!

Same thing from Japan to Germany only 4 days but on the other hands I ordered stuff from a tackleshop that is only a ONE hour drive away from my house and it took them 10 days until they finally delivered my package not to mention that they got me the wrong stuff

It actually depends on when the seller put the package through the mail system. sometimes, you just get a fast delivery but on some ocasions, it might take a day or two longer.
Re: 4 Days, Japan to Texas
Without going into the gory details, my last two experiences in shipments from Japan have been the total opposite. I am still waiting on one shipped 9/13 USPS... Another arrived very late and damaged (DHL)...

My rods shipped friday fed-ex, and Monday 9AM they were at my door. They actually beat the EMS shipment by a few hours. The only problems I have had were with DHL. They have no desire to make the schedule committed delivery dates, and often lose tracking of your good once they supposedly clear customs.

Yea, FedEX is much faster, but more expensive, than EMS For 1-piece rods you have no EMS option, so you need to pay the extra money for FedEX. Well, an exception, I got a 4'8" 1-piece jigging rod shipped by EMS
