Megabass IS 71 hyper lariat

Post by spookybaits » Tue Nov 15, 2011 9:27 pm

Gets my vote for best looking reel, ever(edit: with exception to daiwa pt33c :D ). And matched to a Powell Endurance rod... =P~
I must have it.
Thoughts? Anyone else in aww of this little black & purple machine or planning on getting one?

Great looking reel :D Looks like the handle is longer than on the IS63 Lariat (80 mm).

I purchased one early this year.Have used it extensively throughout the season. Mounted on a MB Destroyer "REKKAI" and spooled with 20lb Sunline Metan green,it made a excellent pitching tool. Casts like one would expect..superbly .I was able to pitch baits from 1/4 -1oz without any problems. I cant imagine it performing any better than a standard Steez though. I just never liked the cosmetics of the standard versions with the logo all over the reel.I have always thought the Steez was a nice piece of kit but never pulled the trigger for the before mentioned reason. When I saw the Lariat ,I knew I had to have one.If your eye-balling 1,get it...you wont regret it,even with the much higher price than a standard its still an Ito and should hold its value alot longer.

Too bad they don't have those purple accents available on the RH model.

I agree, I think that steez logo is about as ugly as it gets, looks like something you'd see in professional wresting

Hahaha!!! Your right!!! I hate professional wrestling too as it is so fake; rather watch NCAA wrestling along with freestyle/Greco matches. :big grin:

One might even say the logo looks like a bad tribal armband tattoo :D
Word on the street is the 2012 model will look like an Affliction t-shirt, complete with glitter & splatterpaint. :D
Sorry, I'll stop.

If you wanted to add more purple accents where would you start?

Any reccommendations on where to get one in Left retrieve? Megabass USA says they are discontinued :(

Which Japanese outfitters would you guys recommend?
Thanks
