Conquest 50DC?
What do you guys think of this reel? Anyone have it? Considering it for my Rossa Pregunta 58.

Re: Conquest 50DC?
I have the lefty version. I thought enough of it to get myself a second one.
Re: Conquest 50DC?
Just got one last week and it is still in the box. It was a must have considering I have 3 Conquest 50's therefore it was the next logical step......

JDM quality is unsurpassed. Period.

This not intended in any negative manner. Big fan of the Conquest 50 and have 2. I have also previously had a Calais DC and a 100DC. (Sold both primarily due to weight)
What does the DC model 50 do or allow you to do that is that much better than the non DC version?

Re: Conquest 50DC?
Since I'm looking for a perfect pairing to the Rossa Pregunta Bamboo, the rod pairs old world bamboo with new world fit/finish and accents. What better reel than the 50DC for it? Sizewise I tried the 100DC that I have which works ok, but I think the smaller frame of the 50 will be ideal.
It's on the list of stuff to buy in early 2012 that I don't need.

Obviously, there's the DC cast control. But a lesser-known feature of the 50/51dc that I really like is that it has an audible drag. That is, if a fish takes line, the drag will click.backcast wrote:What does the DC model 50 do or allow you to do that is that much better than the non DC version?

Re: Conquest 50DC?
A Cardiff 50S DC would look pretty sweet on that rod too. The Cardiff 50S is a beautiful and great performer. Nothing beats that DC "whine".

I thought the same. ....but perhaps I am bias that I dont buy the idea of digital cast control at all.backcast wrote:This not intended in any negative manner. Big fan of the Conquest 50 and have 2. I have also previously had a Calais DC and a 100DC. (Sold both primarily due to weight)

hv seen my frds using same settings with different reels, the DC may help reduce "birdnest", but a trained thumb with Abu's IVCB could always cast further.
Back to the topic, other than non-dc conquest 51 and 51s, Daiwa IZE light and Megabass Monoblock Carrozzeria Limited Racing Milano could be pretty good too.

Yes, great feature, the same goes with Daiwa Ryogas.....bigreddog wrote:Obviously, there's the DC cast control. Great some time in the future I'll go fishing and I’ll ask you to come along and cast my reel for me all day, but until then I’ll continue to use and enjoy my many DC reels. Thank you!kakaryan wrote: I thought the same. ....but perhaps I am bias that I dont buy the idea of digital cast control at all.
